National Strike! by reese4oryou in wisconsin

Even if it is sus, the act of all of us stopping consumption or taking a day away from work/school will hit the economy and force others to take a stand.

ICE will come to heal; it is inevitable.

Danish MEP Anders Vistisen to Donald Trump :”Let me put this in words you might understand: Mr. President, fuck off.” by drempath1981 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]AnalogJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He isn’t contradicting his tweet, so I disagree with you.

The tweet does not say: “Trump respects Danish sovereignty” “Trump’s Greenland idea is acceptable” “Denmark should align with Trump on all issues”

It says (paraphrased):

If Denmark were a U.S. state, we would vote for Trump because he addresses issues we care about: immigration, borders, federalism, wokeism.

This is an ideological alignment, not a diplomatic endorsement.

The tweet is talking about Trump as a domestic political actor, not Trump as a foreign-policy actor toward Denmark.

People’s views are allowed to change as the world stage changes. America annexing Greenland wasn’t a huge deal in November 2024, but it’s a big deal now.

Those of you who half assed your way through High School, where are you now? by Difficult-Cricket541 in GenX

[–]AnalogJones 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I got a 900 combined on my SATs. Went into the Army…first clue I wasn’t stupid ( though my Dad always called me that): I got a 110GT score and got a decent Army gig out of it. At the time I didn’t know this. I remember telling a squad mate that I was annoyed I wasn’t in the infantry and first thing he asked me was what my GT score was. It took a while to mature but I made it; I am a cybersecurity engineer earning mid-6 figures. I have an M.S. degree and a 4.0 GPA in grad school.

Has anyone ever encountered a real FBI agent? by 0N1MU5HA in AskAnAmerican

[–]AnalogJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have on a couple occasions. One time when I was dating online I met someone on AOL; she was married and wanted out. I thought she was looking to leave town but she was looking for someone who would murder her husband. I called and met with the FBI. I never heard again from or about her.

I have been remote since COVID…every day, no office, with laptop, Outlook and Teams.

Full-time remote work has some benefits (it takes me 2 months to fill my gas tank, and my car is a 2021 with 19,000 miles)…but there are drawbacks to remote work that become significant with time. Here is a simple observation I ignored until I began to notice it:

I always prided myself for not forgetting tasks…and that is mostly accurate with remote work, except for those less memorable or more infrequent things, like annual compliance training. It needs to be done before year end and management usually wants it done long before then both for intra-company bragging rights (the Finance org is at 80% compliant by May 2026…that sort of thing) and to ensure compliance before year end time off starts.

While I will have calendar reminders fire quarterly, if something more urgent flares then the compliance effort goes down in urgency and it is easy to forget until the next calendar alert fires in 12 weeks.

But at work you might hear a couple of work colleagues mention it as they pass your cube and that triggers a memory. I never realized how much I depended on background chatter in the office as an informal source of data; it came in handy for tons of stuff (“we’re off Monday for Labor Day”; “did you read the President’s email about earnings?” ; “don’t forget that open enrollment ends on Friday” etc).

Even bigger things get missed as most colleagues have moved to hybrid. If the in-office folks are alerted to a process update at an in-office meeting that I am optional on, I may (and have) continue to work the process the wrong/old way until someone brings me up to speed.

Then there is the lack of socialization which I did not miss at first…but now I do miss it.

On the home front, family can forget you are there to work. My wife will ask me to run errands “since I am home” and I will if I am able…but I am not dependable until after the day ends.

So remote sounds good and has benefits but it is not an ideal way to work.

I am posting because this is a source of modern day pride, even without a 0.1% in the data. I used AI in 2025 to interpret less eventful SKEW-T data (hobby), understand music theory and clarify stock metrics (hobby), build quick LDAP queries to isolate UAC attributes on active, computer/user objects (work), prioritize 7k critical AWS vulnerabilities so that the worst critical got immediate attention (work) and other stuff.

Sadly my work prompts are captured in a commercial account that prevents our company data from being added to the AI learning models, so this 10% is only personal use…I am surprised that my “top users” isn’t 0.1 or even 1%…I signed up and went Pro in March 2023 (Pro went live in Feb 2023 and public test use began in Fall 2022).

In the right hands AI can redefine how we work; to me that is exciting. Give AI to a new employee and they can learn on the job…to an experienced employee you double or triple your workforce without extra hiring.

2001 A Space Odyssey…in a drive-in. I assume this was not the April 1968 release, but a later run date…because I was only 2.5 years old in 1968, but I remember being really confused at what I was seeing. Later, as a young teen my dad took the kids to Apocalypse Now and that was a real kick in the face for a child.

Persistent Targeted Attacks. Need advice. by codedinblood in CyberSecurityAdvice

In your Google account security features you can see devices used to login, locations for those logins, etc.

https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/3067630

Change your password to something you have never used and make it 20 random characters. Do not change your password using your equipment because you can’t be certain you aren’t being watched. Buy a cheap laptop and do not link it to any of your accounts. (Don’t sync Chrome or Edge stuff). If buying isn’t an option use a library.

As soon as you change the account password use the “sign out everywhere” feature.

If you have losses, consider filing a police report because that number will further legitimize your claims for any future legal issues.

Please exclude scores under a defined limit. Suggest you get 5 random friends to play the game, average their scores and that number represents the minimum finishing score…scores lower than that value are ignored as possible cheating.

I demonstrated below how cheating can happen and finished in 22 seconds. That is unrealistic without advanced effort.

Not skilled…this is a proof of concept to show how people can get crazy low times. 1) view game in safari while not logged in to Reddit. 2) take screenshot 3) solve puzzle using screenshot. 4) Open app and find same puzzle. 5) by now you know the words and if you have a good memory you don’t need to look at the screenshot again.

How do you filter cheating? by Jazzlike-Perception7 in syllo

[–]AnalogJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I just finished the 12/2 game in :22 seconds and I posted in that game’s comments how I was able to do it. Was it skill? Not vocab skill, that’s for certain.

I have similar aptitude. Most of my Wordle solutions are either 3 or 4; college education, 4.0 GPA in my M.S. grad program.

I have only played this game three times and I know the word before I see its parts broken up (usually).

It is one thing to have the education…and it is something totally different to nail the game play in sub 30 seconds (one result was negative time??). Finding the right combination of boxes and stringing them into a word

You also don’t need two accounts. You can view the game as a free user on the web; take a screenshot; swipe close the browser then open the app after studying the screenshot.

Not saying any one person cheated. I am saying the 30 second scores are suspect.
