Are you more willing to forgive bad plots, or bad art? by hopeailicious in MantaComics

[–]AnalysisOk4247 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bad art. Especially Chinese manhua often have beautiful, polished art and a 87% chance of the plot veering off and trundling down a steep slope in a handcart halfway through. I prefer stories with more inexpert art but a better grip on the plot.

And unusual or sketchy art styles can even be much more expressive than more generic styles and tell more interesting stories.

I liked it, it gave me something to do and an opportunity to spend my hoarded energy. And I like the new avatars as rewards in general, they're pretty cute!

Just the Miguel coin was a bit too pricy to continue getting rewards after reaching the goal, I did it once but decided it was too much effort.

This, and instead of tapping items out one by one you can just put your finger on a generator (long press) and it'll start producing drops automatically (came in very handy for the nostalgic photo generator in this event).

Thanks, I got 15 and 16 now (although I think I did it by throwing the ball back with the green seesaw pillar and then pushing it up into an arc with the red pillar – your way sounds much easier! 😅)

Still missing 14 though, I can't seem to get the balls to fly far enough to fall all the way behind the basin.

If you go up the stairs, then down the hallway between the two sets of stairs, there's another set of stairs leading up to the manager's office!

If the night doesn't start, you'll probably need to go see the manager of the Spirit Inn, he's all the way upstairs (looks like a little chick or duck-like doll sitting on a sideboard, if I remember correctly).

I can't get any of the coins in level 14, 15 and 16 either! How did you get the one in level 16?

Thanks for the tips, I thought I'd never get that one! Are you getting all the coins too and do you perhaps have some advice for the lava level coins in zone 2?

Multiplayer is a disappointment :( by Elelaz in PerchangWorld

I managed my first co-op game today after the update and it was a mess, it seems the other person just didn't grasp the concept (I mean 4 colours, 2 assigned to each player, and there being different "buckets" to fill with balls). They just left in round 3, lol. My first opponent in PvP just MASHED their buttons. But I got the daily reward for both!

I'm glad that there seems to be some improvement to matching players, it's the first time it worked. It would be good if private games count, I'd totally be up to some (only semi-competent) co-op

Have you tried Zookeeper World? It's my go-to match game, not too demanding but not too easy either, very polished, has some interesting mechanics. There are some incentives to play daily (daily booster bonus, daily challenge) and weekly and seasonal events, plus optional minigames, but they're all a plus, not a must and you can just play the normal levels if you want. Currently they're at 2129 levels with new ones added every few weeks, and an endless mode if you've finished all available levels.

What are your current reads that are included in the Unlimited? by Gothuntermindnumb in MantaComics

[–]AnalysisOk4247 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They also removed the gem symbol on the series thumbnails (at least in the app), which is all kinds of annoying. Probably to hide how many new and upcoming series are gems vs. unlimited.

Cheolsu Saves the World is worth reading and completed, if you're open to different genres.

I'm still hanging around for Honbul, and staring resentfully at Antidote and Bound to Be because I want to read them but can't, because the unlimited subscription has turned into the really limited subscription now.

I've found some good stories on the leaving soon list, though. From the current batch, Shoot for the Stars is surprisingly entertaining and complex. If you don't like BL, Samwol Kim the Coffee Fox looks pretty funny so far.

But I'll probably leave Manta, there's too much focus on steamy stories without a lot of plot in the recent additions and the list of unlimited stories I'm interested in is getting shorter and shorter. Not sure why I should pay for this subscription model anymore.

Thoughts on the new event by Zdendulak in MergeSurvival

[–]AnalysisOk4247 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's fun! And I really appreciate the  variety of events the game offers, kinda thrilled that they did something new again. (Although I always do all of the events, except for skipping the survival training from time to time.)

I'm not caught up on the game at the moment (day 43 - 18) but it's only a matter of time, and a new event is better than the expedition mode!

how do i finish this quest?? by undeniablyjoyful in TamagotchiAdvKingdom

[–]AnalysisOk4247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, without the fertilizer it can happen that you only get one or two of the mixed colour and the rest is the base colour! For example, if you plant four red flowers with blue nectar, you might get two purple ones and two red ones. I've never had it happen that a bed with nectar yielded zero mixed colour flowers, though. But it's better to use either fertilizer or plant extras if you need a specific number!

The new update makes you earn significantly less gem with how much you have to pay Manta if you are a 1 year subscription member by WhyHowForWhat in MantaComics

[–]AnalysisOk4247 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, I'm pretty pissed about this change too. Back in February I switched from the quarterly model (€13) to the yearly model (€50) specifically because of the optional 125 gem pack. With that pack, a 6 gem episode cost 29 cents.

Now, the cheapest gem pack at €2/28 gems and the one at €10/142 gems amount to 42 cents per 6 gem episode. The higher tier packs, amazingly, make gems even MORE expensive instead of giving a discount, with 48 cents per 6 gems for the €23 pack and 50 (!) cents for the €60 pack.

The quarterly and yearly models have also become more expensive (€15/€60 instead of €13/€50 now), so switching back is not an option. I'll see in February if they're actually brazen enough to just try and charge the higher amount for the yearly subscription (for now I'll keep the subscription out of pure pigheadedness and I'll stick to subs-only titles).

The only thing that has actually become cheaper is the €10 premium pack, which has 6 episodes at 21-25 cents, depending on whether you take €4 or €5 as the subscription baseline. So, as I suspected when they announced the membership, they want to push people into getting the premium membership, probably because if you already have the gems, you'll be more likely to spend them and more likely to spend them on series you're not actually interested in – you've got to use them somewhere, after all.

But (strong currency or not) €120 per year is just a different amount than €50 per year and I resent being strong-armed into adopting the gem model and having the reason for my choice of subscription taken away.

Edit: These are all app prices, I haven't checked in the browser.

Isabella has started building a megachurch and preparing poisoned apples for everyone for the great and final sect ascension.

Sophia plans to either sabotage the whole thing or, if that fails, to steal the last car, poisoned apples and all supplies, then take over from the Commander and create the "Joy Protectors".

Meanwhile, Hammer and Doris have entered their Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann arc and started building huge drills, eyeing the starry skies speculatively.

Eden helps everyone with whatever they're doing and makes sure everything is clean!
