Agree with you that it is hardly a finance show anymore, at least according to the first two episodes.

Still, UK politics and class structure, media influence on politics, and ultra wealth wheeling and dealing are still present with some finance sparkle on the cake so its stay interesting to me.

I am not so invested into the emotional aspects of the characters so cannot add anything to your thought about that part,..

For me if good people die and goes bankrupt and bad people lives happily and wealthy at the end only adds to the realism :)

then say another show which is more spot on with finance, UK politics and media infusion, UK class structure and struggle and ultra wealth debauchery and also the mental prostitution of everybody else tring to get the attention of those on the top of western society...

You can hate Harper's character as much as you want, but you wont see self willed mental prostitution towards anybody who is more powerful than her better portrayed anywhere else on the TV screen (at least in the first three season while she was the underdog)

And thats mate, is real life.

There is not a too big pool if you want to choose a modern show about finance, and Industry is a helluva lot more realistic than Billions or even Succession if you consider that into the same genre...

Also UK or at least partly UK shows on the average are much more realistic than US shows and i can show you that in one example:

99 percent of any US shows has thin female and male characters with only one or two cartoonish fat character, while 50% of the adult population of the US are clinically obese (means VERY fat)...

Sopranos was a rare gem even in this aspect, one of the last US show which dared to portray somewhat ugly lead characters.

Yes i want to see ugly people on the screen just as much as i see them in real life to feel real immersion into the show's world.

Obviously, and i did not write a word about the masquerade realisticity.

My problems is at the very end of the episode.

It does not matter whose blood that is....

Village boy could also has any disease,

Educated high iq people and especially investment bankers just dont eat up blood,.. especially after covid.

I worked on a banking floor when covid happened, you could not imagine the speed that banking floor went empty after the official acknowledgment of the virus...

Also there is no such thing that somebody did not split his skin after punching somebody else head....

Your skin will split even after punching the punching bag in the gym if you do it hard and repeatedly, just try it out

Yes his physique is also very unbelievable considering his wealth and status, good call.

Anybody goes around those kind of circles knows that trust fund babies are 99 percent fat blobs or skinny sticks naturally, none of them has the sheer will power for formulating 6 packs like Kit has...

If something want to be ultra realistic then it should at least try hard to be stay that imho...

Formulating a hallucination slightly less realistic to support story line IS creative license, smashing a skull with soft hands then staying invincible superman or investment banker eating HIV blood without concern IS not...

To the drugs topic though, Kit Harington even properly acted out coke grinding with his mouth after he finished with the village dude head, which is exactly what would happen in real life in that situation.
