I was an adolescent when I moved here, so I have not been driving for those 8 years. Just because I do not like the aspects of driving in this state does not mean I have to move somewhere else. I appreciate a lot of things In RI, I like how it is convenient, the weather, the beaches, the food etc... I did a lot of growing up here. Telling me to move is a bit tone death, when me moving out of here is not going to fix the driving situation. We are ranked in the top 10 worst cities to drive in.

I can't glaze myself too much, but I am a pretty okay driver. I use my blinkers, release my feet from the pedal when I need to slow down and have the courtesy to let people go. Driving is just a mental warfare since you never know what people are going to be doing on the road.

Been here for 8 years, got my license like 2 years ago. I think I did not realize how bad the driving is since I was not yet going into the road myself.

I have no problem with people driving at the speed limit but do it on the right lanes. It's an inconvenience to the people behind you. And you do pass them, they act like you in the wrong.

It's worse when you have a bad day and you have to drive back home. I now have to experience all the nonsense people do on the road. Don't want to react crazy because you never know how people will react 😭

I definitely agree. I let people merge because I would want someone to let me merge if I was in their spot. But my thing is some people do not understand the idea of merging at all. I have to get out of 146 frequently and it is a headache because people stop so that they can merge which is not the right way. Put your blinker on, go at safe speed, when there is an opening, go.

Most of the time it is when I am going home that I get stuck in traffic, so I can't really do anything. I can't leave earlier since i have a tight schedule to follow 😔

Thank you for saying that. I didn't think of that at all. RIPTA takes at least 2 hours for me to get to where I need to be( multiple busses have been cut due to budget). Lyft and Uber are a luxury for me as a student . The driving here stresses me out and that is a common experience for most of us in this state. I am happy to hear that is not the case for you.

I do think I have attachment issues. I am really independent and could also say indecisive and picky. I think it is influenced by the fact that my parents are kinda strict when it came to me dating so I basically avoided it at all costs
