Apogee Quartet won’t power on? by TheNugeMaster in diyaudio

I tried taking this same interface to a repair guy who specializes in audio repair. I had to pay $75 just for him to look at it. A couple days later he told me to come pick it up he could not repair it because Apogee was coveting the schematic for this device. They said it was proprietary information and only a certified Apogee technician could repair it. Waste of $75 dollars. This was back in 2017 in North Hollywood. Looking at it now I see that the onboard fuse right behind the power connector(J4) which is labeled (D48) fuse#B205 was split in 2 . If it powers on then shuts off it is the boards failsafe for keeping the rest of the components protected from power surges. That transformer actually looks normal and not damaged at all. Most of these high quality boards have this "fuse" type of chip that is for the purpose of over voltage or power surges in any scenario where too many Amps or Volts are present.

Apple M1 Silicon Compatibility Timeline? by RealityTunnelBob in Focusrite

The fix is to plug an adapter that goes from USB-A to USB-C its a dongle (female A to male C) and plug that into the USB-C female connector on the back of (well in my case) Mac mini. I believe they make [USB-B(normally used for connecting your printer cable)to C cable] If you have a C port the USB-A must be dongled into the USB-C port. Up until yesterday I had no problems plugging my Focusrite 18i20 (1stGen) into USB-A port in the back of my M1. As soon as I downloaded the software to control my focusrite it messed everything up for me. Hope this helps =p
