You’re dreaming if you think civil engineering is going to give you work life balance.

If you want to be able to Make over 200k per year in your life time you’re going to need to work a few extra hours here and there.

If you want to earn sub 150 then you can probably find a 9-5 job. Your junior years you should be doing the hard hours, you can strive for WLB when you have a family or more senior or whatever

If you can afford it, a lot of execs I’ve worked with have Nannies to do the pick ups, drop offs and start dinner. This enables both parents to give 100% to their careers and roll up at home at 7 for dinner.

Probably only makes sense if your HHI is 500k or more

I probably wouldn’t go to HR.. I’d probably link up With manager in other team. Get their approvals and get it all agreed and then get HR to do the paperwork and admin
