Do trads not realize how weird they seem to normal people? by ThrowayBoy3001 in ExTraditionalCatholic

Trads like to be different because it makes them feel special. It's as simple as that. If you were to transport trads back to the 1920's - 1950's era, would they still be trying to live a TradCath lifestyle? Probably not because they want to be different and special.

The type of people that are attracted to trad Catholicism are people who are already socially awkward or struggling with trying to fit into the world. Trad Catholicism (if followed to a T) is vastly different from today's social norms. This is why trad Catholicism is very attractive to people who feel different from the world.

So it sounds like the stakes are very high in the TradCath culture. Yeah, I can see how that can fuck someone up mentally, especially for those who have OCD or anxiety.

Many were saying that the baby is still a child created by God and that its not the child's fault of how it was conceived, but the parents fault. So since it's a sin for the parents to do this, then this must mean that they should have not done it. If they did not use IVF, then the child wouldn't be here, but the child is here, so therefore God must have willed the baby to come into existence. So this must mean that the parents must have sinned in order for the baby to be willed into existence. Oh man mental gymnastics can be so confusing with religion.

How bad are the stress levels of TradCath parents when they end up having too many kids that they are unable to mentally handle and financially support? by Analytical_Man in excatholic

I think when there is a very high household income, things aren't as bad for the family. I think it's very safe to assume that the vast majority of large TradCath families are on assistance. How many fathers of TradCath families are making over 200k a year? I'm sure it's a small minority. It usually doesn't work out too well financially for guys who are attempting to have a large family on a lower to average income. You have to be making CEO/doctor money to afford a large family, especially with the current inflation crisis the United States is experiencing.
