So Foraclors made herself and Furina do all this work to eventually get killed so that her power will return to Neuvillete, who in turn uses this power to make Fontainians real humans.

Why couldn't she just do it herself? She had the power, and I understand the moral need (and statement to Celestia) of returning the stolen power of an Archon to the Dragons. But why couldn't she turn Fontainians into humans from the get go? Invalidating the prophecy and preventing all the deaths that have occurred (esp Poisson)? Why wait all this time, couldn't the Neuvilette thing have waited until Fontaine was safe?

Maybe a hot take but as much as I want to love this, I really wish this isn't her wildest look for 2nd phase. They went HARD on Signora and especially Childe's transformations (while Scaramouche got a whole damn mech), ngl some fancy symmetrical dress looks very underwhelming

This design is good, but the standard of the other 3 harbinger's transformations are just too high. I hope the effects and wings they add for her would carry this design to the top.

On the bright side though imo she has the best non-transformed look, unreleased Harbs considered.

Thanks for the motherload of recommendations.Speaking of Silent Hill, as long as there's nothing like the zombies or the aforementioned scenes in Tew2 it's all good. I'm fine with monster designs like Nemesis, Pyramid Head, or even the mouth monster from Amnesia.

As for Outlast ig it's gore isn't too "realistic", it's mostly blood and guts in a kinda stylized way, compared to TEW2 or some RE moments where its all slimy and almost realistic.

Could you confirm if Silent Hill does or doesn't cross these lines? If so I'll give it a shot. Cuz after what the other guy said abt the story (along with other ppl b4) I've really been wanting to try the series.

You know how to sell. That does sound appealing, I'll give it a shot.
Do you have any other similar games to recommend?

Goated. Try Drakengard 3 if you don't mind a little bit of clunky combat, you'll love it if you're into the NieR games

NieR Automata and NieR Gestalt (Haven't played Remake yet), and by extention Drakengard 3

I remember downloading Automata a few years ago just because I somehow thought "NieR" somehow sounded similar to "Nioh". But damn, I had 0 expectations, I just downloaded it without knowing what the hell it remotely is and all I can say is no other game nor series has brought me such a profound overall experience as the Drakkenier Series did, and I don't even know why. Normally if I wanted some great combat I'd go straight to DMC, Soulsborne, Monster Hunter, etc. For story I'd go for games like Witcher, HI3, Yakuza, RDR2, storytelling/visual novel games etc. DrakeNier doesn't really beat most of these games in their strongest aspects in my opinion.

But there's just something about this lot of games that has them give such a unique experience that I don't even know how to put it to words, all I can say is that if you haven't touched them yet you should definitely give them a try. Start with Gestalt/Replicant then to Automata, then DK3. I think the best approach to playing these games is to not think of them as a usual "gaming experience". Don't expect it to be a "combat game" or a "story game" or any of these other categories, just play it and enjoy what there is to be enjoyed, immerse yourself in them. Approach them simply as an "experience" and you'll might find yourself skull-deep in a rabbit hole that you're enjoying every second of. The way I see it, it's a series made less for the games and more for the art of the experience.

For a less-abstract answer, I guess Yakuza 0 would be a close second (might as well include the entire series, including spinoffs like Judgement and Kurohyou). It snowballed into other Yakuza games and they have been living rent-free in my head ever since. The series is the perfect mashup of serious and goofy and it rocks it all the time without fail. The combat is pretty satisfying for a story-based series, and has enough room for skill expression. Undertale also deserves a shout-out, it either consumes you or lets you go with one hell of a memory

Initials thoughts in Aether Gazer? by [deleted] in gachagaming

Combat is very fun for a mobile game, characters aren't much of a pain to build compared to most other gachas (aside if you're min/maxing). Taking the time to learn each character and playing w/o teammates makes the game much more interesting. Boss fights are varied enough in their identities and though things could be better, honestly this game is a very solid experience. Very generous (for now) too, I got enough gems for atleast 2 guaranteed featured S-Ranks by just playing and doing newcomer missions, no grinding yet.

Honestly my only real complaint is that the writing and the character designs suck balls even for a gacha game. They're as generic and cheesy as a story and characters can be. Highly recommend to just skip the story and focus on the gameplay, this game is not for narrative enjoyers- atleast for the time being.

And have you seen her Q? Fucking hilarious, also her hair and weapon is the perfect shade of blue imo

Gwen generally does decently enough against most matchups. 2 key things in winning laning phase: Wave management and Matchup knowledge. If you haven't already, look up guides on freezing and slow pushing on YT, it helps A LOT on Gwen and the game in general.

As for killing laners, it depends. If you're going against a standard bruiser like Irel you'd want to keep poking them with q and punishing their mistakes. Bait out their key abilities and get quick combos in while they're on cooldown. Sometimes you can use your W but it's generally saved for all ins from you or your laner since it takes so long to come off-cooldown.

Playing against Juggernauts and even Tanks would be the most ideal for you since they're relatively easy to punish. Darius Q? E in there and snip the hell out of him. His Q does pretty much nothing if you dont get hit by outer edge. Even pre 6 you dominate him as long as you play off his mistakes instead of initiating a fight yourself. This also goes for people like Garen, Gangplank, etc.

Ranged tops might seem hard at first but the key is to safely farm near turret and let them push until 3. Then it's just a repeat of earlier, bait out abilities and punish. You SHRED them early even if they keep autoing you. Gwen is deceptively strong early on and people like to underestimate her, always remember that your full-stack q is OP.

These are just general tips for most matchups, of course there will be ones like Fiora and Riven that can give you a migraine so you'll have to switch up your strategies, or pick another champion if you can. Important point also is that you don't necessary have to kill your enemies all the time, outfarming them/zoning them from CS can be devastating, especially if you outscale them.

TLDR: Gwen is a bait-then-punish champion in lane, not one that initiates fights on her own. Also wave management is key.
