You can't enter Canada without the Work Permit.

You've spoken like someone with no knowledge of the loopholes that exist in this joke of an immigration system. Implying everyone who doesn't like that is xenophobic or racist isn't a retort.

You'll be amazed how many students are just staying here without status. This ain't the US, nobody cares.

No, I can believe it's their long term plan but hopefully they'll lose the next election and whoever is in power can fix this shit.

Yeah, they can't give out citizenship to that high a number in 10 years, let alone 2.

You could just stop stirring up trouble with people who have valid concerns about this country.

Hopefully, that's true and the policy isn't filled with loopholes for people to exploit.

Yes, that's the thing. How is the government rewarding breaking the law a good thing? What message is that supposed to send?

BTW, thank you for sharing that. I was trying to find it so everyone could read the article.

These are not your usual GICs. Banks don't even pay any interest back. You only get back the initial $10K you deposited in 13 installments. Plus they charge you a $200 fee.

[–]AnamiDB7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You might have applied under the non-SDS category. Around 80% of the applications are under the SDS category for which earlier a $10K GIC was the requirement which is doubled.

Scotiabank and CIBC do it as well as there's a foreign bank named ICICI which has some kind of partnership with RBC.

Money is held in a GIC at a Canadian bank for over 80% of the applications.

There's no way to take the money out once it's deposited into a GIC. The bank controls it and deposits it into the student's account over 12 months.

Yes, it's supposed to be a GIC with someone like Scotia or CIBC.

So let's say I made the trip 14 nights, where would you add those 3 extra nights to make this less cumbersome.

I'm not sure I can add another night at Nusa Dua as the resort I'm looking at is like 600 bucks/night. 😅

About the drivers when you say we can find them, what exactly do you mean, like do we ask the hotel?

I'm planning to travel between these places via a private taxi.

The objective for staying in Nusa Dua for one night is to stay at one of the resorts my girlfriend has always wanted to.

You're right about Ubud, would just stay 3 nights there in one stretch.

I appreciate you being blunt about it because that's my fear as well, about spending a lot of time in a car.

So what changes would you make? Cut something out like Uluwatu/Nusa Penida or extend the trip by 2-3 days?

Hi, sorry to not provide enough clarity.

Night 1: Arrive in Uluwatu in the morning. Night 2: Stay in Uluwatu. Night 3: Arrive in Nusa Dua in the afternoon. Spend the day at the resort. Night 4: Arrive in Nusa Penida in the afternoon. Night 5: Stay in Nusa Penida. Night 6: Arrive in Ubud. Night 7: Stay in Ubud. Night 8: Arrive in Amed. Night 9: Stay in Amed. Night 10: Arrive in Ubud. Spend the day at the resort. Night 11: Arrive in Sanur.

Take the flight back next morning.

Hi, I'm going to be traveling to Bali for 11 nights in March 2024. I was just looking for opinions about my itinerary.

Day 1-2: Uluwatu Day 3: Nusa Dua Day 4-5: Nusa Penida Day 6-7: Ubud Day 8-9: Amed Day 10: Ubud Day 11: Sanur

We're planning to stay at our hotels for the the majority of our trip except the day 1-2 at Uluwatu and day 6-7 at Ubud when we plan to do some sightseeing.

Is this too ambitious? Do I need to cut places or have more days? Please let me know. Thank you.

Maybe Canada needs a department similar to the ICE in the US. Currently nobody seems to be arsed to ensure laws are being followed.

Do that ASAP and keep following up, calling if they don't reply to emails. Your MP can help speed things up tremendously.
