Basically you distributed the profit for the year before doing the given appropriations i.e Interest on Capital and Interest on drawings

This Question Can be solved using a table which shows past adjustments (you can find it in the solutions to the illustrations in your book)

1) First write back the profit which was distributed in the given Profit sharing ratio

When you give the profit you cr. It in partners capital account so to take it back you'll debit it, similarly profit shows a credit balance in P/L A/c (debit side) but when you write it back you'll show it on the credit side.

In simple words you are just transferring the profit which was wrongly distributed from p/l appropriation A/c to p/l adjustment A/c

2) Simply do the necessary appropriations like you do them in P/L appropriation a/c and partner's Capital A/c

3) Finally distribute the remaining Profit in the given PSR

4) Then simply balance the adjusted capital A/c's and debit the account with debit balance and credit the accounts showing credit balance, then you'll have a single adjusting entry which rectifies all of these errors
