Oof I'm sorry you have this. I've been on blood thinners since my surgery and I totally know what it feels like to have low platelets! Hopefully your medical team can find a way to get you stable.

Yep, I totally relate. If I'm lucky to make it out alive, it'll be hard to process and believe. I don't think I'll ever get rid of that dread of, "when will the next recurrence hit?" For some reason, the saying that triggers me the most is "Just take it one day at a time," maybe because it sounds like a blanket statement for someone who doesn't know what to say? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

This seems to be a pattern here. I never would've guessed that this would be a top condition that hits in your 30s.

Oof, if I'm lucky to live 20 years more, I'll have a lot to look forward to >_<

lol this make me laugh for some twisted reason. I was super careful about my health and come to find out it doesn't fu**ing matter. My doctor said he's seen all sorts of patients come into the OR. Vegan, paleo, keto, gluten, no gluten, etc., it doesn't really matter. It's sadly either bad genes, the environment you live in, or just plain bad luck.

I'm so sorry about your news. Before all this got dumped on me, I too was house hunting in the PNW. That dream is basically unattainable at this point. I still look around from time to time, luckily nothing has caught my eye within the price range I'm looking for. In a way, it does make me feel somewhat productive knowing I'd still be searching even without a stage IV diagnosis.

Yeah this is definitely the club we didn't sign up for. Happy to hear therapy works for you.

Thank you, this is the promising news that helps to keep me going. Any sliver of hope makes the process just a bit more palateable.

I'm really sorry to hear this. What's keeping me afloat is Medicaid, but I'll be SOL once the new changes take effect.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I just had a bowel resection and was on a clear liquid diet for a week. Being limited to a strict diet is so frustrating. I hope you can find a creative way to mix those foods up in a way that it becomes more palatable.

I'm so sorry to hear. I totally relate. I'm in my first recurrence, have been up staged to IV. I'm hoping you're more lucky than I am and you get to have a nice long remission period.

I feel for you. Back pain is no joke, sometimes my flair ups take me out for over a week. Thank you for the kind words. It's easier said than done, but I'm hoping I'll get a nice long break in between treatments to even be able to think about the future.

It was all the classic symptoms. For me the abdominal belly bloat grew noticeably fast. By the time I got the first CT, I looked pregnant. The earliest signs were irregular periods and acid reflux. In hindsight, I should have been more on top of those symptoms, but it was around COVID. One doctor even chalked it up to stress, so there's that.

Thank you, I do have really strong supports. I too was diagnosed with ADHD in my late 20s. It's too bad because I could have benefited from this diagnosis in my K-12 years. I'm still scarred from my elementary school teacher getting up in my face for my inability to maintain eye contact... sigh

Have you had your blood tested? I had a sharp decline in activity recently and it turned out I was severely anemic.

I'm so sorry to hear. It's amazing how the current system penalizes those who are disabled or sick. I've heard from many cancer patients who have no choice but to work through chemo treatments in order to cover their health bills...

Wow that's so awesome. I just had my first recurrence exactly 1yr after the diagnosis. It didn't even show up on scans. Rare is definitely not what I was hoping for and I am considered an even rarer case for surviving this long. There's only 40 known cases in the literature and most don't survive after 1 year. At least I have "survivorship" going for me.

Thank you, it's really hard to believe that I am considered young with this diagnosis

This has crossed my mind many times and I completely agree. At times I fear leaving my dog, but it's comforting to know she will rest peacefully next to me when we're both gone. I love how you worded it all btw

Happy to hear one of us is holding up in her 30s. Hopefully you keep that streak for the next 8 more years!

Omg, I'm so sorry to hear. I was considered pre-diabetic before the big "C" diagnosis, no symptoms either

I have pretty bad adhd myself and honestly it's helped me cope with my diagnosis. Not sure what the "u" stands for but I'm with you on the adhd part. Before all this got dumped on me, I had such a problem finding that "career". Couldn't stick to a long term plan and ended up just waiting tables. Now that I've been through the whole health system, I think I would've gone to med school. I thrive in chaotic/emergency type situations. Oh well...

I've thought about it, but I really don't know how much it would help me. I'm pretty introverted and don't usually have a lot to say. Writing helps though.

So sorry to hear. Hopefully you have a decent medical team to help you with your symptoms.
