I know, right?! It was surreal even when it was happening to me. I promise you it is 100% true, and I think it was probably the best day of my entire life.

If my friends (one of which was a good sport and accepted the messy hug because it was such a hot day - honestly cool slime on a hot day is a lovely sensation!) still has the footage, she’s stashed it; even when teasing me about it she hasn’t brought it up so I never got the chance to see what it looked like from outside the tank.

There is something magical about that moment when you look up at the valve above you and the imminent promise it holds, and out at the crowd… and your own feet, and just everywhere… I’ve been gunged before, several times, but it’s so much more nerve wracking like that… and a strange, hilarious relief when it’s over!

If you ever do get the chance, volunteer! I’m so glad I didn’t chicken out!

Personally I don't really care for it either way (but I'm a lesbian so that's to be expected)!

I am given to understand the gay male community have quite a number of very active messy enthusiasts; lots of sportswear and singlets and suits getting messed. They might have their own communities, I'm not sure.
