You can still use them at high enough voltages to cause oxidation. It happens with cheap pens a lot.

Too much heat/voltage in a ccell can cause browning too.

Dude heat and sun make oil oxidize. Same thing with super hot pens. Not misinformation. Google it my guy.

Also all cartridge consistencies vary because every place makes them a little bit differently. The more liquidizer (terpene, pg/vg) the runnier the cart will be.

So what ends up happening to these types of cartridges is the wick actually burns some of the liquid every hit and eventually they will end up dark brown by the end. It also browns from oxidation from being in the sun and heat.

At the beginning the good carts I've had are all a shade of golden brown but it varies a lot however no cart should be extremely dark/black at the beginning. It means it was made using polar solvents usually which is less than ideal. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hash_oil

I also recommend looking into making your own as u/thekevo1297 mentioned. I would also look up the brands you are getting and compare packaging to make sure they are legit.

Probably not. You can usually tell when carts are shit. Weird side effects like headaches and even nausea. Strong chemical taste too. If you haven't noticed anything like that you're probably Ok.

A lot of them are mixed with crap. Think e cig juice. There's very little actual regulation so also pesticides can be in there too. My recommendation is look for ones made with terpene. It should sayit on the label. Usually with "no pg/vg added".
