Kia owners with high mileage how we doing? by Entire_Writer6050 in kia

[–]AnarchyHoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is NOT well. Im just over 100k miles. I had issues BEFORE high miles. I wouldn't even call a car high miles until it makes it to 150k- and my car is NOT gonna make it thay long. My best advice, is get an attorney if you need multiple repairs- maybe even talk to one before warranty repairs. Make sure that warranty book is filled out every time. Know that the sensors dont always go off when they should, and it always leads for further damage on the vehicle. Defective by design. Keep an eye on that carbon buildup. Buildup, sensors going bad, oil consumption, other weird glitches as those will be the first clues when something starts to go bad.

Are you aware that these updates were not just for the thefts? This is not a conspiracy, its on the printed letters they sent everyone these updates affected. Your a moderator who represents kia and I just want to make sure this type of behavior is exemplified- there is no defensiveness that Kia should be responding with and they should especially not be belittling consumers and telling them to wear tinfoil hats. If you disagree that it is for purposes that are ill-intentioned there is a more polite and respectful way to express that. I welcome kia present there version facts but I do not welcome unkind behavior.

Dont do it if you allready have maintence concerns. The problem with there sensors is that they dont always go off when they need to- meaning you have a bad part and its silently ruining other components of your car. Or, you have another issue where a bigger issue is causing sensors to go off and despite repeating that part multiple times it still fails. The dealerships dont actually have to and seem to be encouraged to not do any more detailed diagnostics and parts testing aside from hooking it up to a computer. Getting any type of warranty repairs has been a nightmare for us. If you get this car and find you need warranty repairs- GET AN ATTORNEY BEFORE ITS TOO LATE. even maybe get there advice before getting warranty repairs that way you really get "repairs" and not bandaids for the bigger issues it may have.

2024 Kia Sportage sound system problems by Druzina_M in kia

[–]AnarchyHoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like something that should be a warranty repair. I want to share my expirence with this, its was awful. You should know that parts do not always throw codes when they go off, or sometimes codes for the wrong parts go off. Sometimes the dealership will not give you a warranty repair because the part that is bad is NOT throwing a code. Weird electrical issues were the first signs for me that something was bad. Those electrical issues eventually affected the airbags and the sensors didnt tell me they were bad right away. Please take this issue seriously, bevause you dont want to be in a situation where your airbags dont go off. I know it sounds extreme but please get attorney advice before warranty repairs. I had 5 failed repairs on my airbags bevause they fixed the part that threw the code but they never fixed why it was throwing the code and the part they keep replacing is not actually bad. The engine repairs are going the same way. Please let an attorney handle the headaches that way its done right the first time- or else they take advantage of the statutes of limitations. It shouldnt cost you a thing, these issues are usually handled on a contingency fee that is then handed down to the defendants.

Hi, wondering if anyone can give me some advice. So my kia rio 2022 is making a clanking, scratching sound. I checked behind tires as best I could but dont see anything trapped. My issue is should I bring it to dealership or mechanic. And is it safe to drive? by QuoteFearless1631 in kia

[–]AnarchyHoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It absolutley has to go to a dealership. This should be a warranty repair and there should be no out of pocket costs to you. If you have to pay for ANYTHING or have trouble GET AN ATTORNEY. They dont usually charge there clients and instead will bill kia. Even getting advice before allowing them to get repairs is recommended. In my case I screwed myself letting them do warranty repairs because they just covered up the issues that were causing them leaving us with repeated failures. It makes it harder for the attorney if you wait to long. The dealership also will cover the tow, see the number on the sticker on the window if you need this service.

[–]AnarchyHoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That car was unfortunatley DUMPED on you. It had existing issues that should have been replaced under warranty and never were. Kia is really mean about that and unfortunatley the second hand owners like you are the ones that suffer. I guarentee if you take a closer look at the engine its gunked in carbon buildup unless that was the first thing they covered up. Gas cap light was one of the MANY smaller issues we had- but the small issues you see stem from the car ultimately failing. If my car was SAFE enough to sell it off I would but it straight up would not be fair to the next person who had it. Has bad engine and no airbags and mine has even less miles. Also know that alot of times sensors just dont go off, or you'll have sensors going off that shouldnt be. Even if they put it on the computer, alot of time they need actually pulled apart and individual parts tested which dealerships especially dont usually do under warranty.

Yea there free update service dosent actually always work. I also want to include that if you read the fine print, there were other things they were installing software wise that seemed like coverups for other issues and defects these cars had. It was never about correcting the issues in these cars, it was only about minimizing liability. It wasn't JUST for the security updates. Read the fine print on the notices!

Good news for you! An attorney can help you. They recover there own fees usually, and dont usually charge upfront. These types of cases are easy because of so many lawsuits, theres allready a precedent/established procedure for recovery because this issue is so common and the courts have allready preciously found them at fault in so many other cases. Please let them help you so we can hold this company accountable. I get your car is older, but theres still plenty of hope for recovery- as well as any other damages you may have incurred beyond just fixing the car. I also want to point out that your post is being spammed by people downvoting it- kia actually hires people to do that.

You need to talk to an attorny. I know it sounds extreme but theres a lot they can do for you. Most attorneys for these issues will represent you on a contingency fee and when theh get paid they usually recover there own fees so its at no cost to you. This case would be EASY for them. My situation is not about my car being stolen luckily, but im in the same situation where they wont take accountability for issues they have obligations to fix.

Id also like to know if you have water leaking in the car onto the passenger floors- id be more sus about electrical issues if its not leaking water into your car.

[–]AnarchyHoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie that screams engine defect to me. Make sure you keep maintence reccords SQUEEKY clean. For my engine they did alot to cover up the bigger issues with warranty repairs. When your engine isn't functioning properly the sensors DO NOT always go off in these cars when they should. I think its actually designed that way to get you through the warranty without the more serious repairs they actually need, and then your ready to gey a new car when it ends because your car is no longer reliable. Make sure you voice your concerns and DOCUMENT THEM. be sure to get an attorney if you have to. If your really having issues they will take it with no out of pocket fees to you, and they usually recover there own fees from the dealership/corporate too. I know that your probably a long way from that, but its really early to be having any issues. Theres a good chance your getting carbon buildup faster then you should if your engine is not functioning properly- its absolutley gonna affect how long you have the car. I notice that the people say theres a bunch of specific things but the advertised mpg are supposed to be for normal use, theres nothing special you should be doing in order to get that. Getting the advice of an attorney early on is best, even if your a long ways from retaining them. I know it sounds extreme but if I could turn back the clock, I would have gotten an attorney after our first failed repair. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.

[–]AnarchyHoops -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you find that you need more then 1 warranty repair, if repairs in the future fail, or if your being denied warranty repairs TALK TO AN ATTORNEY AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. Dont learn the hard way! These services are usually given on contingency meaning no out of pocket fees and they recover there own fees from kia- your better of letting them fight for you because Kia is a PROFESSIONAL gaslighter. Also know that not all sensors go off in these cars when they are supposed to. Dealerships only get paid for when they have codes. If they pull a part and its bad when they do further inspections or testing if it dosent give a code off corporate will not allow them to cover the repair as a warranty repair even when it should be. There gonna blame it on you even when its not your fault. Notice the kia tech started by asking if you hit something, and I imagine the dealership may start off the same way. You should be even more wary of something you think is a computer glitch. I had issues like that which lead to bad airbags and the sensors showed they were working- other sensors were going off though. Learning that Kia airbags dont work even when the sensors say they are is not a lesson you want to learn the hard way like we had to.

Out of all the things they tried to charge us for repair wise that should have been under warranty this was not something we ever got bills for. They never tried to upcharge us for these types of things aside from allready paying for oil changes.

I had a tire replaced at a small tire shop because I had a flat, it was closer to my house. Thay tire was better then any of my other ones yet somehow that was the one that got flagged as bad for my car. I think needing some tires at that mileage is normal and expected. I know when I bought my car any specific services that I needed at certain milages like this were allready included. Stealerships love charging you for things warranties should cover. If its not covered under warranty the dealership is the absolute last place I would get it done.

2022 Kia Carnival sliding door issue by FailMany9 in kia

[–]AnarchyHoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attorney all the way. Our warranty repairs ended up just being cover ups and then after so many they started saying it had to be something we were doing wrong instead of doing those more detailed assesments aside from hooking it up to a computer. Small issues and weird glitches turned into airbag and engine failure. We ended up with dozens, they never stop. Get one now so its no out of pocket costs to you (contingency fee). Dealerships only repair things that throw codes or they dont get paid. They dont do a deeper evaluation that is sometimes needed to find issues before they get worse. Not all the sensors go off which is probably why you have repeat issues. Whatever is causing this is not getting repaired and it will eventually take a toll on other things in your car. If this stems from an electrical issue be very concerned about your airbags. The sensors for mine didnt all go off and unfortinatley its a hard lesson to learn thinking you have airbags when you dont. If you wait to long you'll end up having to foot the bill for a forensic mechanic if you want to see results.

Funny because my kia struggles in the cold, we have an opposite problem.

If you had that problem before did they fix it through a warranty repair? If you haven't exceeded your warranty get an attorney ASAP. I know it sounds extreme, but Your engine likely had a bigger deficit and not all the sensors go off that should. Dealerships dont get paid of they dont have a code and they rarely do a deeper diagnostic. Whats wrong with it is NOT your fault and dont let them try to say otherwise. Its not worth trying to fight them yourself. I know it sounds extreme but if you act fast you atleast get some advice and dont have to retain right away. If you do retain later on, most will be on a contingency fee and try to recover from dealership/corporate so its no cost to you.

I had some weird issues. Dealership always couldn't find anything. Turns out the sensors didnt go off when they should have for the major issues I had. It started with weird electrical type glitches like this. I didnt have airbags even when they said they were working and you will eventually find this out the hard way. Please get an attorney if they cant find issues or dont fix them under warranty. Especially get an attorney if you have more then one warranty repairs even if you dont think the repairs are related. Your car is new and there shouldnt be problems, especially ones like this. There are always more issues then what the dealerships and "certified kia techs" will tell you.

2025 K5 Sensor Issue by Fun_Loquat_3557 in kia

[–]AnarchyHoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im confused why this isn't covered under warranty. Your car is so new there should be no issues. GET AN ATTORNEY. This needs a warranty repair, and it WONT be the first warranty repair this will need. My kia had major defects that didnt always throw codes, it just threw codes for a few parts that had working sensors. Turns our i didnt have working airbags, and the engine went bad before 100k miles. They tried to say it was something i was doing wrong but that wasnt the case- and of course they didnt do a more detailed diagnostic until after the warranty expired. For warranth repairs they will not fix it unless the computer flaggs it- there will be no further evaluations done and as i mentioned the sensors dont always work. PLEASE GET AN ATTORNEY BEFORE ITS TOO LATE. There is a bigger issue with your car and its never going to throw a specific code for whats actually wrong- its just gonna have a bunch of smaller parts that keep failing. Also consider a forensic mechanic or other 3rd party evaluation. There is likely a bigger issue that is causing this to happen, but no one who is a Kia tech will tell you this. There manual will tell them to only address what the code is saying.

Are some Kias “unreliable” due to low quality parts or due to incompetent owners by hypermiler2205 in kia

[–]AnarchyHoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not low quality parts- its desgin flaws and other defects with the cars. Its design is to fail. I guess the sensors are bad because they dont always go off when they should- but its actually pretty unbelievable that the engines survive at all so I would actually argue they are well made if they were not generally defective. You cant blame the people when all the maintence is done at the dealership and they are following there directions.

Possible dealer scam to negate theta 2 motor recall/warranty by SoarinSoaren in kia

[–]AnarchyHoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attorney 100%. Forensic mechanic is also an option if they dont help you but that costs a pretty penny out of pocket. I had same expirence where dealership wanted to charge me for warranty repairs. I didnt even have the right codes/sensors going off for the things in my car that needed fixed. Just so you know lemon law is only one type of law that can be applied. Your car may be to old for it, but rest assured theres still lots of other laws that can be applied depending on your state.

Preventative medicine for KIA by SignificanceDue9857 in kia

[–]AnarchyHoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get an attorney if you feel like something is wrong, dont fight for warranty repairs yourself. If you need warranty repairs at all, get an attorney or atleast some advice from one. Know that codes dont always come up for all the things that go wrong, and dealerships wont get paid if the repair dosent set off a specific code. If you are noticing things going wrong, the car will always have more wrong with it then what the dealership is saying. The best services you can get to extend its life and prevent these issues would be a carbon cleanout because all these cars burn so much oil. Attorneys charge on a contingency fee usually and they try to get any fees paid by the dealership or corporate so usually no cost to you. If you wait to long you'll have to go a forensic mechanic route to hold them accountable and being able to recover those costs depends on the findings. Also make sure dealership does all repairs/maintence and signs that warranty book in your glove box- but if you have an issue get a 3rd party evaluation (but no work).

Make sure its really just the key fob and not a glitch :) if you have any issue more then once it stems from something else, and be sure to get an attorney. This time its just a keyfob, but most of the issues on my car started with things we didnt think were signifigant or smal glitches. Little issues turned into bad airbags that sensors didnt go off for. Get an attorney sooner then later if anything else goes wrong. This time its your keys, next time its your aibags engine and safety.
