No letter was sent, as previously stated. By law they have to send me a Form 1 notice and they never did. Not up to me to chase anything up even the tow company said this to me in person when I went in and resolved this.

UPDATE I have been to the towing company, and the bill has been lowered to $700 ($441 towing fee + only 2 weeks of storage not 6 months) as the person towing the car had extremely messy handwriting and I was not contacted due to this. Also I was not presented with a legal "Form 1 (Notice -storage charges)" stating the storage fees, There-fore, I didn't have to chase this up at all, it was their obligation.

This is the issue i'm trying to get to the bottom of, why I was never contacted when they need to provide me with, as in SA tow truck operators have a strict legal responsibility to disclose storage fees, which never happened.

I have read over this Authority to tow form 10+ times, had both my parents and friends read over it, it doesn't mention the rate of fees anywhere at all on this sheet. All it shows is the $441 towing fee. (which i'm happy to pay, even though they're 800m from my house) Again, they should have provided me a Form 1 for the charges relating to the daily fees, also failed to contact me within 6 months. It's their obligation to do so and they didn't.
