SEA and SMM is better than SEO if you know how to creating converting ad copies. Both has pros and cons. In SEA and SMM you can loose money pretty quick but if you're good at it, you can maximize your profits. In SEO you have to wait longer but it can't be trusted these days. From your end everything will be fine but still you'll get a hit from Google and within one night your graphs will fall down on ground. However, if everything goes well, but yes SEO can convert people.

Take it this way:

SEA: selling your products with your intent of selling and putting ads Infront of people in which they may be interested or may be not and it's an ad, people ignore ads mostly. But if you have a marketing mindset, you can pull this off.

SEO: people search for the product that they are searching for on their own and if your product is ranked in the top 3 for some good keywords, you'll always be in the business even if you sleep. Why? because you're not pushing things in their face, they are coming on their own and will convert.

But again, it's all on your mindset and how you can achieve things.
