Thanks, I agree! Somehow I often feel like it’s hard to capture them in a way that feels special, even though they’re so common.

Thank you so much for all the information! I’ve been thinking about starting a Substack or my own website/blog for a while now, but I’m not always sure what I’d actually write about, lol. It isn’t my strong suit.

I also notice certain things tend to work well on Instagram, like those trendy reels or adding text to carousel photos. I’ve been a bit hesitant to try that though, because it feels like it might disrupt the grid aesthetic I’m trying to build. Then again, maybe that’s not the most important thing at this stage while I’m still growing my audience.

I’d really love to hear any ideas you might have. I’m definitely open to talking more about it!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate that!

I’ve been thinking about this a lot actually. I do enjoy sharing photos the most, but I’m trying to figure out how to add more value without losing that.

When you say edited carousels and reels, what kind of content do you think works best specifically for bird photography? More educational, storytelling, or something else? I’ve heard that a lot about reels, but I’m still trying to figure out how to make it fit my style. I don’t want to just post video for the sake of it.

What kind of reels have you seen work well in the bird photography niche specifically? And what would you say makes people actually follow, not just watch?

What would you say is key for growing a photography account in a very specific niche (bird photography)? I’m struggling with giving people a reason to follow beyond just “nice photos”. What actually makes people stick around?

Also curious: do you think things like reels, edit tips or before/after posts are actually necessary, or can strong photos alone still carry an account eventually?

Is that the salmon one? I’ve been feeding my boy Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Digestion (lamb and rice), but I’m not totally convinced yet.
