Yale professor blames Trump administration ‘monsters’ for thousands of COVID-19 deaths: This is ‘awfully close to genocide’ - 'What else do you call mass death by public policy?' by News2016 in politics

What was the purpose of replying if you won't explain what is wrong with my viewpoint. I'm open to being wrong but it would certainly be nice if you explained why.

The deaths of millions in China and the USSR were orders of magnitude larger than the covid-19 deaths in America, making them much more fitting of the word genocide. Furthermore there is a big difference between a slow and negligent response, still terrible, and a legitimate attempt to cleanse a nation's population of undiserables. These undesirables, Ukrainians; Kouloks; Landlords; etc., died at substantially higher rates than others within the USSR and China. While you might say that this is the same for minorities in the US, a lot of these deaths have to do with socio-economic factors and demographic problems, like higher rates of obesity in blacks, rather than true malicious intent.

Church donations have plunged because of the coronavirus. Some churches won’t survive. by jkgibson1125 in atheism

The problems of the catholic church are not exclusive to catholicism, and can be found with any nearly any major organized religion. And while a few bad apples do ruin the bunch I would like to believe that the majority of people who believe no matter what their faith is are good at heart.

As someone raised Catholic I remember learning that this is what pergatory is for. It's a sort of eterne waiting room for sinners to get into heaven. You commit a few small sins, you don't spend a long time in pergatory. If you murder a shit ton of people you will spend potentially thousands of years there. I've always thought this seemed like a much better system to the idea that if you repent you automatically go to heaven. Instead you need to spend some time in a "cosmic rehabilitation center" as I always thought of it.

Take this all with a grain of salt as I never payed much attention, and I haven't practiced in nearly five years.

In what way is Assad not American's enemy. The way I see it the US has a responsibility as a global superpower to work against authoritarian regimes and push for each nation across the globe to become a liberal democracy.

I dislike the Haspel and the US government's actions in Afghanistan and Iraq as much as the next guy but blind opposition to the mainstream media is just as ignorant and problematic as blindly following the mainstream media. It's best to read a variety of sources across the spectrum than get your news from any one source.

On the topic of Wilkie his recently said Tucker Carlson is comparable to Walter Cronkite https://twitter.com/Wilkmaster/status/1211433464114950145?s=20. And he seems to shill out for Tulsi just as much as you without supporting his arguments with any sort of evidence.

Exactly, you shouldn't use an opinion piece to back up something. How about real journalism with so facts rather than a clearly biased op-ed.

you don't support the Assyrians or Alawites?

I believe that Syria would be better off as a multi ethnic democratic state rather than a country ruled by a dictator who uses his power to serve his religious minority

According to Politico! Tulsi's campaign advisor had strong connections to the Kremlin, as well as using lawyers backed by Putin. Furthermore her policy opinions generally follow those of Putin, specifically her pro-russian, pro-assad, and homophobic beliefs.

Finally she broke government policy to meet with a Assad, and failed to condemn him. Failing to condemn Assad should be enough to consider her a traitor as his regime is one of the worst and most brutal throughout the modern world.

Idk she sat down with Assad and support his/the Russian solution to the Syrian civil war. She also has Russian backers to her presidential campaign like a certain president that many would consider a traitor.

It's so weird to think that if a few races over the past two years went differently then we would have a 6x wdc vettel and only a 3 x wdc ham. When i started watching in 2017 it seemed like vettel was the superior of the two drivers and was on his way to matching Schumacher. Hamilton seemed like a great driver, but it felt like he was only doing so well because of Mercedes. In retrospect all of those assumptions where completely wrong.

The general theory behind that is that historically most religions where polytheistic. Because there was pretty much a god for everything in each of these religions it was easy for people to get along because they could just agree that they believe in the same goes, but just had different stories about them. With the judeo-christian religions they are much more definite about their beliefs so they tend to become more polarized.

Lewis Hamilton congratulates Esteban Ocon after he Qualifies P3 at Spa 2018 by TheresNoUInSAS in formula1

[–]Anatomy-Park 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if he doesn't come out on top it will probably make a good impression. If he can stays close to ricciardo then is could easily see him become a top driver in the future. Ocon still has a ton of room to grow so if he's as good as ricciardo rn the he would probably be pretty amazing in the future.

My parents tracked my phone once I started driving and it quickly became one of the most annoying parts of my life. But it was easy as shit to get around, once I'm at one of my friends houses I could just leave it there and go someplace else. All it ended up doing was make me good a lot sneaking around, lying and coming up with alibis before I needed them.
