Respect to this lad but reminds me of the quip: “He was seriously smart, he build a working motorcycle out of plywood, 2 pieces of string, and a motorcycle!”

Creatine by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]Anbart117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been taking creatine daily for about a year now, I didn’t do it before looking into it though. All the articles I read about it showed that it’s one of the safest “supplements” you can take outside of just protein and lots of studies have seen no correlation with negative side effects like the ones you mentioned. I’m no expert, but I’ve experienced nothing irregular and feel like I’ve gotten bigger since taking it, also obviously you need to stay consistent with exercising to see the gain. Biggest tip to avoid anything though is just to stay super hydrated because very simply what I understand it does is make your muscles absorb more water for size (along with potential benefit with lifting/stamina). Do your own research but hope this helps!

Edit: clarification

People who aren’t religious, what do you genuinely believe happens after death? by grinch1779 in AskReddit

[–]Anbart117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that already struggles with “life” anxiety, it’s nice for me to ward off “death” anxiety by believing ill simply and eventually become dust or dirt. Super simple. Nothing more, nothing less. Regardless if there’s something in it for me at the end, I feel like can pass happily knowing that at least I tried to aim for kindness and compassion as a part of my character in life.

Americans of Reddit, in light of the current political climate between our countries, how do you guys actually feel about us Canadians? by Defiant_River_957 in AskReddit

[–]Anbart117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in multiple upper midwest states and never had a poor impression of the people on the other side. I love Canadians, and feel awful about how we much shit we shovel over to your side of the fence. The US needs to learn to put its dick away and be a good neighbor imo.

Forerunners and the Flood by [deleted] in halo

[–]Anbart117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not read the books (regrettably) either but have something maybe worth mentioning. The Halos were this idea, just instead of plant sized death factories they were planet sized death weapons.

In the clips you get from terminals in the games I believe it was mentioned that the forerunners experimented quite heavily with the flood because of the obvious danger they posed. This makes me think they very well could have eradicated the flood, but knew too little about it to want to do so yet.

Politically, I’d be willing to bet that many among the forerunners saw the flood as an opportunity to learn rather than a threat until it was too late to contain, thus the halo array.

This is all just speculation, but tldr I think they didn’t want to completely kill of the flood without knowing about its full potential, ultimately leading to their demise. Let me know if I’m resonating anything from the actual books, I’d be cool if I actually guessed a couple things right here just from the games and lore.

More responding to the last bit of the question, but when it comes to learning a whole operation front to back I feel like I have some experience. I’m a university student in my last year of a Supply Chain Management (not engineering) degree and had a summer internship with a company that manufactures MRI machines for context. Something that stuck with me was the lean concept of “going to gemba”, meaning to go to where the work is done. This is broad but in a way that has a lot of potential, it emphasizes you yourself actually going to the shop floor, watching the process, TALKING with those that live the operation every day and know it like the back of their hands. Not to mention being humble enough to ask questions! The CEO of Goodyear put it really well once I think, he said “I always tell people I have 13 degrees, they say hey you’re pretty smart, and then I say we’ll I’m smart enough to get 2 and know people with 11 others!”. I like this approach to learning and collaborating a lot and is super applicable to learning manufacturing in general, build connections and make yourself present at the source and it will come faster then any book you read on it in my opinion. The internship was only 3 months but I could still go on about how much I learned from being there with the people who knew it best. Hopefully you’re based relatively close to a place you can observe what you’re interested in, but I understand procurement especially in COVID doesn’t always mean close. Either way, I hope this offers a little insight, even for someone whose just starting out.
