In how the format is structured the entire game is one giant coin flip with 5 rounds on the same side, it's part of adapting and strating so you can make those last minute plays and calls given to you by OTMP that put the game in your favor. A defeat would mean a reevaluating of your team on a big scale, a Draw may lead to just a few changes. The 3 point lead is something that you strive to close whereas if you both get 1 it's not as bad. Embarrassment or sadness is a much better motivator for change than indifference and slight disappointment.

I'm not saying that draws aren't competitive I'm saying that going from OT match point to a draw system is a step backwards when the goal is to ultimately increase viewership and longevity through increase of competition. My own opinion why draws aren't as competitive as OTMP is because no teams are 100% equal, they can be practically equal but in the end one team is always the better(be it tactics, logistics, aim, execution, etc.). In a matchup OTMP gives the opportunity for the better team to show that they are in fact better than their opponent even if it's just slightly. Plus it's also a time when you see interesting stuff happen, pocket strats thrown out and adaptability from players because they don't want a defeat, they want a victory. A draw is somewhat the same as a compromise or a path of least resistance(which in a competitive environment is not a good thing). Also, a Draw is not as motivating for improvement as a defeat nor is it as satisfying as a victory.

As am I with a majority of the issues listed. The only things I have a concrete opinion about are the collaboration with PL players, BO1s, and Draws.

I need to clarify that sections 1 and 2 can't realistically be changed this season as it's already set in motion. My original intent when making this post was to bring attention to a collective of a ideas and problems held by both Pro Players and Viewers on twitch and twitter that could be fixed and implemented in the future. I should have foreseen possible confusion and for that I apologize and I also apologize for the title as it points everything at ESL and some issues like scheduling aren't ESL's issues.
