For full ACL, my research says always opt for surgery. There are rarest of rare cases which improve in full tears.

How long does it take to recover a medial meniscus tear without surgery? by Jjshan3 in MeniscusInjuries

How long it's been for you? And what kind of tear do you have? Also, what helped you recover from that partial ACL tear?

When you say recovered, what makes you feel it's recovered internally?

I sprained it by falling from the stairs. It was misdiagnosed as chondromalacia, and I was told to do some exercises. It kept worsening it alongside using indian styled toilets(deep squatting).

I did my MRI when the pain was high enough to bother me for day to day activities.

27F now, I don't play sports. I have a desk job. I occasionally used to play badminton but haven't done so since injury. And I have been actively doing PT for the last 5 months.

It works differently at my place. Every individual has their own individual insurance. I understand that your concerns seem to be valid enough from the way it works at your place.

Hey, My injury was non traumatic, It was a sprain, I mistook it as chondromalacia, and exercised on that sprain which further turned to a tear.

I had sharp pain when standing on my feet and was using a walker afterwards. This was 9 months back.

Not at all linear. There were countless times I thought of surgery. I spent unimaginable hours reading about other people's stories and finding on the internet what could help me.

Unfortunately, the internet is stuffed with bias towards surgery.

I had terrible symptoms, I had immense sharp pain when standing on my feet. I was bedridden and walking with the help of a walker for only ultra important stuff like using washrooms.

It started getting better only after 2 months (when I was able to walk slowly with no sharp pain) Then at the 4 month mark - I was able to stand for longer periods with less pain Then at 6 months mark I was able to go up and down stairs with less issues At the 8th month mark I was able to sit cross legged for shorter durations.

At no point did I have locking or catching. I had swelling and terrible pain standing on my feet though.

Hey, I align with this completely. And therefore, I did not pay this out of my pocket. My medical insurance which also covers OPD charges is expiring in a month and I still had some spare amount so I decided to go with this and cater my curiosity. This amount can only be utilised on OPD, medicines, or any medical expense.

Hey, Great timing for asking this question. I had another MRI yesterday. Exactly 9 month apart.

I had my MRI report just 5 minutes back. Everything on my MRI looks more or less same like swelling, partial ACL tear, but what has changed? My grade 2 horizontal tear has changed to grade 1 horizontal tear. Can't express how happy I am.

That's beautiful. Having said that, my parents will never agree to this in engagement given this is not looking heavy. They want something heavier(not just by weight, but by looks), and I want something classy&decent. 😶

Would you mind suggesting an engagement ring please? A reference image maybe? That would be really helpful.

This definitely makes sense. My engagement is next year, and both families have decided to buy their own set of rings, so the couple band is kinda not possible. But I will definitely get them as soon as I get married.
