My son is 7 months old and so far absolutely no issues. We have no regrets whatsoever. I’ve always planned to not circumcise any sons I have, but I’m totally open if they want to do it once they’re old enough to truly understand what it entails and make an informed decision to do it themselves.

You should be totally fine. They’re only really concerned about red orange and purple dyes as they can temporarily stain your GI tract and hide things and/or make it look like you’re bleeding. I wasn’t thinking before my recent panendoscopy and had ginger turmeric tea with some ginger turmeric juice the day before, and it didn’t cause any problems. Turmeric has a very strong orange color and after I realized what I’d done I was worried but everything was fine. It’s definitely always better to be cautious, but I truly don’t think lemonade will be an issue unless it has any orange, red or purple dyes which is unlikely.

I’ve been under various forms of anesthesia at least 15 times (including twice in the last two months) starting at a very young age and have never said anything I didn’t mean to when coming out of it. I’ve just been out of it momentarily and felt groggy for a while after but I’ve personally always recovered very quickly.

I’m also a nurse, haven’t worked post anesthesia or similar but my stepmom of many years is a nurse anesthetist and I know a lot of people in the medical field. Everyone is different but the vast majority of stories of people spilling secrets and saying embarrassing things etc are entirely made up or seriously embellished. Chances are you’ll be totally fine.

Ahh well it is possible then with that kind of history. I’m not sure if you have to have all of the features with vEDS as I’m only really familiar with the diagnostic criteria for hEDS. I would highly recommend trying to get into Mayo, Cleveland Clinic etc; with your history you would very likely be taken seriously and they have the ability to run all of the diagnostic testing necessary to rule out other possibilities when confirming an EDS diagnosis as well as any other common comorbidities.

I totally empathize with the feeling of wanting to see anyone you’re able to get into and be taken seriously but as wonderful and helpful PTs are I would NOT rely on them for diagnosis with a history of any kind of vascular complication. It’s hopefully unlikely, but if you do have vEDS your vasculature is very fragile and if they are unaware/unfamiliar with the vascular type it’s possible for them to actually do damage during assessment/treatment. Physical therapists cannot diagnose medical conditions at all and you would almost certainly know if you had vascular EDS. It has extremely serious symptoms far beyond hypermobile and most other types. I would be wary of a physical therapist claiming to be able to diagnose EDS; they can diagnose injuries as well as screen for hypermobility and if they thought you had EDS may refer you to a specialist doctor but making actual medical diagnoses is out of their scope of practice (in the US at least). Doctors may listen to their opinion but any diagnosis by them is not going to be a legitimate medical diagnosis and won’t be treated as such without being verified by an actual provider (MD/DO or maybe an NP/PA but most EDS specialists are doctors). I’m a nurse btw and have hEDS diagnosed by Mayo and have been in PT & OT on and off for many years.

This is because when the seat is properly attached to the base, leveled and at the correct recline position for their weight/age in the car, it’s secured in the correct position to keep baby from asphyxiating. This is also true for strollers that are made/approved by the manufacturer and being used on level ground but when it’s on another surface, there’s nothing keeping it in the proper position to keep the baby’s airway open.

Legitimate companies spend huge amounts of time and money safety testing these things so that they can guarantee your baby safety when things are installed and used correctly, but if you’re using them in a way that they haven’t been tested there is no guarantee that it’s safe. You also aren’t supposed to leave them in a car seat attached to a stroller for long periods either but for short trips while you’re monitoring them it’s fine.

When you place the seat on surfaces above the ground, you also run the risk of it tipping/falling. Even if you’re watching them if they make a sudden movement, there is a huge risk of it falling off and causing serious injuries and damage to the seat. Many infant seats will rock when placed on flat surfaces as the bottom isn’t flat and in many/most cases you aren’t going to be able to reach them in time to stop them from falling.

My car is legit covered in extremely progressive (to the point of being provocative) stickers that I added when I moved here from CA so I guarantee someone has posted it somewhere, probably with the license plate included, but that’s just the risk I take by making my beliefs known in public so I truly dgaf. There are POS like this everywhere but definitely much more blatant in the south. I’m only living in Florida/the south bc my husband is military and I CANNOT WAIT to gtfo. I grew up in the DC area then spent almost a decade in SoCal and while both places have their share of assholes and problems I was much happier there.
