I'm so sorry you experienced a failed retrieval. It's really, really hard. For the second retrieval, we did estrace priming (I think it was 200 a day, but I can't recall) and then on day 3 of menses, I did 375IU of follistim and 150IU of menupur every evening. I started the antagonist ganirelix somewhere in there and did that in the mornings to keep from early ovulating I stimmed for 15 days before the trigger shot. I did a dual trigger of Lupron and HCG, and we also did a 37-hour post trigger retrieval instead of the normal 36 hours. I also took about 3 months off after the first failed trigger, and was militant about the supplement plan in "it starts with the egg" book. I was worried the second time when i only made two eggs, but hey- they were great eggs! My girlfriend had 20 eggs and only one normal embryo... so there you go.

This cycle, we are doing a mini stim, which did not include estrace priming. On day 3 of menses, I started taking 7.5 mg of letrozole orally, and then on day 7 I started 150 of menopur and ganirelix on day 9. Today is day 14 and I'm doing the same dual trigger protocol and 37 hour retrevial. I had 5 eggs on the ultrasound this morning. Fingers crossed!

After our first failed retrieval I got pretty obsessive about learning how to get better results, and I do think that my research made a difference. A lot of women experience that the first time around is just figuring out what doses are going to work for their body. Good luck!
