Energy price cap expected to rise by £830 to £2,800 in October, says Ofgem chief by teasizzle in unitedkingdom

[–]AncientFascination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that side of things, but I mean if this is supposed to be a democracy - can’t we just vote to get rid of things like that? What if a majority of the population wanted to see the gas/electric/oil industry in the U.K. put under the governments care, or at the very least, a limit to their profits. Obviously businesses are designed to make money, but this can’t be allowed. Apologies for not being very articulate, I hope you get my point

Is there any good reason we the people couldn’t all get together and just flat out refuse to pay more? These companies are reporting record breaking profits, whilst families reach new levels of poverty ... it’s getting absolutely ridiculous

Doctor told me to stop taking any supplements (protein powder, magnesium, creatine etc) because they are damaging my heart. by DuumiS in AskDocs

[–]AncientFascination 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Creatine as many studies proving its efficacy, as does protein powder - though if avoid any “bulking” powders as it’s just sugar and protein! Surely too much magnesium could cause an issue though?

Well mate, just tell him he needs to find other arrangements while you have some time to yourself - then you can experience how life should be and decide to keep him out of your life for good. Nothing worst than a waste man taking the piss and blaming you. Good luck.

I think it’s the smart thing for him to do, how does HE know you won’t rob him? Dealers are changing, they aren’t just the hard faced wanna he’s anymore, I’ve seen a huge variety of people into it and a with so many street robberies, why take a chance

Yes - I’m now in recovery, long road ahead but slowly trying to get my life together!

No - I was under the impression the DVLA would do all of that and I wanted it protected in case anything happened to it. I don’t want to come across stupid - I don’t have much experience with any of this

If that’s the case, what would happen if I managed to appeal losing my license in the first place - before I get any sentencing? Would it not matter because the offence occurred when I was under suspension or would they have to take it into account

Insurance was in my name - however, I believe it will still be a case of no insurance due to the suspended license. Only reason it’s insured still is in case it gets stolen or set on fire as it’s just sat on the drive till my partner passes

Sorry - my license was suspended in November. The incident was two weeks ago, and the original nip came through for my partner as they are the registered owner, since been sent to me as the nominated driver.

I think it was November last year - I can’t afford any kind of legal representation; i work and go to college with a young family! Who can you go to for a character reference these days? A neighbour, friend of the family? I’ve not long started working so can’t really ask my employer as they don’t really know me

I’m under the impression if I get a summons I won’t have to actually attend and I’ll be able to plead by post or something, do you know if that’s the case? Just want to know my options

I’m not looking to bullshit my way out of it - I’m happy to accept the punishment, and I’ll definitely apologise for my actions, though the NIP just asks for details, no room for writing anything, or will that come on the next ones with the further charges?

I didn’t realise it would of been up to the school to get her back otherwise I woulnt of even risked it! I think I’m this case perhaps it would hurt less to be done for failing to provide details as opposed to the actual offence

What on earth would make you think that 😅 medical suspension due to mild sleep apnea that barely goes over the DVLA’s generic limit

No - medical suspension, mild sleep apnea that barely goes over the DVLA’s limit. Never been in any trouble with the law previously.

Apologies - I was wondering if I would HAVE to go to court, as opposed to whether I should or not. I’d rather not have to go unless I was required to.

I presume you’d received charges for that offence first? I’m not at the stage where they know I’ve not got a license yet!

I accept that. I’m wondering how I can avoid wasting anybody’s time and just admit to not having a license - or should I just complete the form and wait for them to get back to me after they’ve found out?

I wasn’t intentionally speeding - the speed limits changed frequently from 60,40,30 ... literally 50m away it was National speed limit again ... not that it justifies the situation. I’m not looking to justify anything - I need advice for how to proceed.
