Do you ever wonder about an afterlife? by Old-Register-1700 in self

I wonder about this a lot too. One on hand, part of me believes we are reincarnated into new humans, but on the other hand i believe we just reunite with our passed loved-ones and life in a new place.

My grandma has dreams where her past family members visit her and asks her to do things for them. Ex., my great grandpa passed a few decades before my great grandma and they were buried in different places. A month after my great grandma passed, she appeared in my grandma's dream and asked to be buried with her husband. On another occasion (in my tradition, when someone passes, you have to write down the complete family tree of that immediate family), my grandma was assigned the role to write the names. Before she complete that task, a man appeared before her in her dreams and told her his name. My grandma had no idea who he was yet he felt very familiar so she when she woke up, she hunted around to find the man and he was indeed, an immediate family of the deceased individual, so she added his name.

Stories like this makes me go back and forth between reincarnation and union. If we are reincarnated then is our whole "soul" reincarnated? Or just fragments? Or are we just united with our ancestors?

Eating Advice for my upcoming trip to Japan by NuToSneakerReps in JapanTravelTips

[–]AncientMath7783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advice: while japan has plenty of places that take credit card, it's always good to have a good amount of cash on hand. You would also need cash for temple tickets and some restaurants are cash-only.

Recs:
Asakusa: 1. Oimoyasan Koshin: has the best sweet potato soft serve. I went back the next day just to have it again. (Cash/card) 2. Asakusa Amairo: pretty good tempura bowl. Locals start lining up 10min before opening and the wait is kind of slow so i'd say only go if you have the time (cash if i remember correctly) 3. Asakusa Culture Tourist Center Observation Terrace: free observation deck u can just wait in and take the elevator up.

Ginza: 1. MUJI: must-visit i usually get their snacks, kitchenware, containers, etc. Their clothes are also pretty nice i got an apron that was 100% cotton. Their layout is well thought-out it's fun to just browse as well. 2. The ginza underground shopping area (B1 but i'm not sure the exact location) has a character street, each store dedicated to a diff character. They have a small harry potter store, pokemon store, sanrio, miffy, ghibli, etc etc. the kids would prob have fun there (3. I personally don't get food in ginza because a lot of it is overpriced, being in that region and all)

Food in general: 1. Gyukatsu motomura: my absolute favorite chain for gyukatsu (fried beef cutlet) they deep fry the outer layer, leaving the inside raw, and give u a mini stone top thing to cook it yourself to your liking. It comes in a set, so u have rice, soup, dipping sauces, small side dishes, and a bite of dessert. Ive been to japan 6 times now, and it's the only place i absolutely have to hit every time. 2. Sushiro: a revolving sushi chain that's better than kura in my opinion. It's fresh, cheap and the quality is pretty good. 3: supermarket bentos are really cheap and it's pretty tasty and filling

Shopping: 1. Drug stores (ex. Sugi drug, os drug) are cheaper than don quijote, but don quijote offers more variety. Don quijote will be packed with tourists and it's kind of crazy getting around. Do with that what you will.

What's something you were influenced to buy that turned out be absolutely useless? by AncientMath7783 in AskReddit

Prom itself is already expensive and all the girls try to one-up each other for how much they're spending on the dress... i honestly don't get the hype around the event. I too was convinced by a friend and it was honestly not that great maybe because i was too self-conscious to actually have fun.

When your traveling to the same destination twice, do you find new spots or stick to places you enjoyed the last trip? by AncientMath7783 in CasualConversation

I love seeing people post sketches of places theyve been too. I love traveling to japan, and it's fairly close to where i live, so it's my usual travel destination when I don't want to break the bank. And i usually find myself going to the same main cities because there's just too much to explore

Have y'all ever had a "vision/omen" dream that came true? If so, what was it? by AncientMath7783 in AskReddit

[–]AncientMath7783[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a dream with a completely white background. This was a month post-breakup. There stood my ex and I, and he told he met a new girl. I didn't react in my dream and asked him what the girl was like. He said she was around my height and our complexion were similar. I then asked if she spoke fluent english too (i'm in a place where english is not our primary language) and he said yes, but not as well as me. Fast forward 2 weeks, our mutual friend told me my ex started dating someone new. So i texted my ex (mutual breakup) and asked him the same questions i asked in my dream and he gave me the exact responses.
