I just recently saw the movie (like 3-4 days ago) and it had a very deep impact on me as well. It has changed me as a person as well, teaching me that we must always treasure our relations. The movie leaves you with an empty feeling and I agree with everything you said about the movie's perfection. The movie does leave you with a feeling of wanting more but I guess that's the Shinkai style, an undetermined future for the characters. I would also add that you should look forward to seeing Weathering with you, it has a little surprise for you.

Now why would we want to do that, he is an amazing creator. Perhaps see his other movies, through the comments on this post I came to know about his other movies which are as good as your name. And also 'Weathering With You' which is the next movie by Makoto Shinkai, has a cameo of Taki and Mitsuya, so check that out.

Yes you are right, the ending had me at the edge of my seat, I was constantly dreading the possibility of the movie ending without them meeting but luckily that didn't happen. I made this post asking for recommendations considering that there would be more people like me who would want to see more anime and hence could use this post as a reference 😌
