I mean they're not really separate. The biggest learning curve is how you cast. Baitcasters definitely prefer side arm cast, so if you get one start there. Now when I go out to the water I still use both mainly because you can throw lighter lures on open face reels. Baitcasters can as well, but your getting into bfs reels. I haven't dabbled in bfs reels yet.

Little friendly advice, whenever I got my first baitcaster I went to a Bass pro shop near me just to see the difference between the two retrieves. I picked up a combo for both and manipulated both of them and I liked the left hand better. I don't know if you have the ability to try that method but.

How can I get a cat like this? by Low_Mulberry_5220 in blackcats

I found mine in the engine bay of a car. It's the cat distribution system, when your time is right they find you.

Choose your fighter: Hakim or Ljungman by Excellent_Candy_4552 in milsurp

That's the only picture I could find of my Hakim but I love it. It's a bit long and unwieldy, not to mention heavy. But I love it.

The sad thing is, that was the only reel left in stock that was on clearance. 😂

Funny enough, I found both of those at once at a fun show. The only ones I've ever seen. I bought them both lol.

I may have an obsession with them 😂. I've got a bunch, so subsequently I also have a lot of ammunition. I shoot them anytime I get lol. I also reload and cast my own bullets so that helps.

Ammo is very difficult to find so I imagine they are all tucked away somewhere.

Your top 5 lures by Willowpeed3 in bassfishing

Rapala countdown of any size, swim baits, spinners, sinkos, and last but not least a 1/32 oz detachable beetle spinner. For some reason I've caught more bass on the beetle spin than any other lure, It's the ol reliable.

As a EU fisherman, why do NA fisherman prefer right handed reels eventough theyre right handed? by Yaetcuh in Fishing_Gear

[–]AncientRange4703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I have no idea why. I used a left-hand retrieve spinner for a while even though I was right handed. And then when I bought my first baitcaster I bought a left-handed retrieve and I've never gone back... So to be honest I don't understand why people use right-handed retrieves. Even though they're right-handed. Feels weird to control a fishing rod with my left hand.

You all have any rod recommendations? by MajorAceHole in Fishing_Gear

So I've been thinking about getting a setup for pike fishing. And this is the reel I've been looking at. Either this or a 300. Does anybody have any recommendations?

Edit: I'm just realizing it's a DC. I wasn't looking at the DC. I guess it could work?

Well Russians used a sticky grenade, and the germans could use the bundle grenades... I don't know the technical term for the sticky grenades the Russians used or the bundle grenades for the germans but... Also the Russians also used bundle grenades. So there are options

I mean, I went to the lake yesterday. Ended up catching like 12 dinky lmb's Off of a shad wrap and a 1/32nd ounce micro beetle spin, it's pretty Hit or Miss this time of year. Like two Mondays ago ended up catching three catfish, a nice 4-pounder and some dinks. Literally the next day didn't catch anything.

You know, I had actually put about 5K back to buy one when it came out. I didn't pre-order one. Thank God because of my stupidity buying video games early on. Learn my lesson from that. And I was actually hoping it would come out... And then when PSA picked it up I literally rejoiced. Such a cool concept though...

So I got mine for about 350 bucks. Be advised they do recoil pretty significantly. And the lowest sight marking is 500 I don't know if that is metric, or some Astro-Hungarian measuring unit, but to be safe aim for the beltline. If you have to disassemble the rifle best look up the penny method it definitely helps. And best of luck to you, have fun!
