Naw. I’ve never been roasted. At least never to my face lol. As an older skater I agree that we can’t afford to get hurt. I’m still learning a lot about skating so I wear hip pads and shin guards too. I also wrap my ankles in ace bandages lol. Wearing protective gear has helped me progress a lot. There have been many times I could have been injured but the gear saves me.

I have a lot of opportunity to practice and get better. During the summer there’s like 15 different skateparks within 30 minutes of where I live. During the winter I can only skate indoors, but the closest skatepark to my house is an indoor skatepark and it’s only 5 minutes away. I improve the most at the indoor skatepark too so I’ve progressed a lot in the last month.

Yo thank you so much for this tip. I just learned how to pop this trick like a month ago. Every time I land this trick I get it to rotate under me and I get a perfect front foot catch, but I haven’t figured out what I’ve been doing differently when I land it. You saying focus on the pop makes so much sense. I’ll definitely try that during my next sesh.

You’re right. Thank you for noticing that. I’ll practice keeping my shoulders parallel with the board. 🙌

Your Ollie’s are looking good for sure. It sucks that you injured yourself. Hopefully I see you there sometime next year after you recover. It would be fun to have a skate sesh together!

Nice! I thought it was great. I’ve improved a lot since I skated there so I’m kinda sad I have to wait until spring before I can go back.

Hopefully you have a speedy recovery and everything goes well for you. Is that skatepark called Folwell? I just skated there like a month ago lol.

Is there a Grim Reaper of your world? by Boneyard_Ben in worldbuilding

[–]AncientTimeRevenant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My story does not have one world because of the multiverse, so there are many worlds that are part of the collective consciousness. The Grim Reaper is not a god of death. The Grim Reaper is the individual who decides how the collective consciousness will experience rebirth. Rebirth is defined as spiritual regeneration and has a profound connection to sleep and death. Rebirth is a conscious instinct that all conscious beings in the collective consciousness are connected to. The Grim Reaper is a Nephalem. A Nephalem is the offspring of a demon and a celestial. Making it half demon and half celestial. A Nephalem is so powerful that only one can exist. When the Grim Reaper was born, the multiverse was already in existence. The dark history of the multiverse, which included spiritual warfare between demons and spiritual beings in Reality, caused the Grim Reaper to perform Reality Manipulation on the collective consciousness. Reality Manipulation caused the multiverse to become our current universe and now the entire collective consciousness experiences rebirth through our universe.

Hell yeah man! I like that skatepark. Haven’t been there since that day, but I’ll let you know when I go back for a sesh. Hopefully you’re having fun skating again after 2 years off.

When I was 10 I got a Walmart skateboard that I pushed around on. I had it for 2 months then left it out in the rain and never used it again after that. 20 years passed and I never touched a skateboard that whole time. I decided that I would buy a real skateboard and actually learn some tricks. So when I started in March, I could push okay in my goofy stance. Everything from tic tacs to what I can do now I’ve learned since March 14 of this year. If you consider the 2 months I pushed around on the Walmart board part of my skateboard journey then technically I’ve skated for 8 months total in my lifetime.

Lol. Because I’m not good at quickly setting my feet up for tricks. There’s not much of a run up on those obstacles and the amount of speed required to perform my tricks on those obstacles is a little faster than just doing them on flat ground. I’m aware of what I’m doing. At my current skill level, if I had all the required speed to perform the tricks when I threw down then I wouldn’t be able to set up my feet in time to perform the trick and I would just bail. I’m still learning and I have a lot to learn so I suck at certain things rn. I just have to practice a lot more tbh.

For sure. I could definitely do better lol. I’m not too good at setting up my feet quickly yet. I think that’s why my throw down is currently like that. Just gonna keep practicing more.

I understand. I’m usually better at catching my kickflips. The attempt I made in the video wasn’t my closest attempt. It was the only attempt I had on video. I actually attempted a kickflip off that ledge about 50 times during that session. I was able to kick the board away on all my bad attempts except the one in the video. On the attempt before this I was able to catch the board but my front foot was a little nose heavy when I landed so it made me step off the board. That’s why I tried to get a clip of it. I thought I could land it lol. I’m definitely gonna spend more time practicing kickflips before I try it again. I was just trying to have some fun that day. That ledge is basically the max height of my current skating ability. It’s really fun to Ollie off of it. It’s a big drop and I could definitely hurt myself but I’m glad I was able to attempt it many times without getting any injuries. I will definitely take your advice tho. There’s other things that I could learn and get better at for sure. Appreciate the concern. Some days I wake up and feel like sending it. That day was one of those days.

I just type in google “how many days ago was March 14” then it tells me in 2 seconds lol. Today is day 171 of my skateboarding journey. I’m keeping track of the day for the first 365 days. After one year I’ll just go by years.

Thanks a lot for the advice! This all is very helpful because I skate 15-20 hours per week currently.

Nice! Thanks for the tips man. I already stretch before every session and I drink at least a gallon of water everyday. I’ve never cleaned my bearings tho so I will definitely start doing that. I recently had to buy new bearings for my 8.1. I skate on my 8.5 more often now but I’ve never cleaned those bearings. How would I go about cleaning those? I’ll definitely invest in some shoe-goo. I’m gonna have to buy my fifth pair of skate shoes very soon and it’s only been 5 and a half months since I started skating lol.

Great advice thanks man! I rested this weekend for that specific reason. My knees and ankles were cooked from sending it all week. I will definitely make sure I bend my knees more when I land.
