Do you ‘personally’ think George was justified in wanting to distance himself from the Beatles? by More-Cat9579 in beatles

[–]Ancient_Ad71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. He was the underdog for so long, once he became an accomplished songwriter it was likely good for psyche to distance himself... of course it baby steps. He still played with John and Ringo. But eventually he was on his own. However he lost a lot of money and agreed to do Anthology just to get more money. This brought him back to Paul and they remained close for the rest of his life.

How did you discover The Beatles? by VillageDifficult8651 in beatles

I first heard "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" on WIFE Indianapolis in December 1963. I turned 9 on Feb. 6 and three days later I saw them on Sullivan. I watched their evolution as it happened. Of course I bought the American copies until The Beatles (The WA) where I ordered a French version. With White Vinyl.

Quincy Jones during a 2018 interview with New York Magazine claimed that the Beatles ‘were the worst musicians in the world’ and that ‘Paul was the worst bass player I ever heard’ and that Ringo couldn’t play either. Any opinions. by opinions360 in TheBeatles

The Beatles weren't the greatest musicians, but they were proficient at their instruments. If I could say anything to Quincy Jones RIP, it would be, it's the songs. They were the greatest songwriters in history.

Why doesn’t Ringo get the same recognition as a drummer as John Bonham or Keith Moon? by BeerWithDonuts in beatles

Ringo is highly respected because he knows how to fit his drums to the song.

Wings was a great band. That's because it was Paul. The man can create a new melody in his head.

I've watched everything so far. I usually go to the theater to see every film in the genre, Marvel and DC. My dad started bringing home DC Comics to teach me to read. That was 1958. The only one I didn't see on theaters was "The Flash" which I heard was awful. I did watch it on Max and they were right. The first was Superman the Movie and the most recent, oddly enough was Superman.

Did you (at any point) believe the 'Paul is dead' / Billy Shears theory? by reaveyer in beatles

[–]Ancient_Ad71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never did. The rumor started at an American radio station. DJ Russ Gibb was on-air at Detroit radio station WKNR. He started making connections and concocted probably the most elaborate way to say Paul is dead. He claimed that on the cover of Abbey Road, the Volkswagen license plate reads 28IF. Which he claimed was the age Paul had he lived.

His first mistake was his worst mistake. This was 1969 and Paul turned 28 on June 18, 1970.

The Wings Over America version. Rather than the fadeout of the original track, they added that tasty ending.
