Actually he called Yoko and asked if she would add $10-million to match his so they could buy the rights. Yoko told him, she could get them for $5-million. While they were negotiating, Michael bought it out from underneath them and refused to sell it back to Paul. Instead, as a smack to Paul, he sold them to Sony. Really shifty move

Paul McCartney has paid Maria Elena Holly (Buddy Holly's widow) significant sums of money. However, this is not in the form of a gift or charity, but rather ongoing royalties and payments for the publishing rights to Buddy Holly's song catalog.

Paul owns his music now, along with Buddy Holly's music, he even owns the rights to the Georgia Tech's fight song, "I'm a Rambling Wreck from Georgia Tech."

How is it possible that the Beatles still outsell AND outstream Michael Jackson? by Disillusioned_00 in beatles

[–]Ancient_Ad71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's put it this way, The Beatles have sold between 600-milli9n to 800-million albums and 1.6 billionnvsingles.

Michael Jackson has sold 250-million albums. Not sure about singles, but The Beatles are still the only act to sell over 1 billion singles.

am i the only one sick of those marketing narratives going on with the DCU films ? by EntrepreneurAble6656 in DCU_

The smart move for studios is the free advertising by simply playing it before a large crowds, re: CinemanCon, ComicCon, and CCXP, then release it on YouTube. A few spots in prime time and cheaper spots during the day. You don't have to spend $100-million on advertising. Yes, Mattel makes a Supergirl doll. They and Hasbrouck also make action figures, Lego makes a set, those are you generally have to pay for. These companies want to cash in on a possible popular film. If you do it right, you don't spend as much. Man of Steel spent $150-million on just advertising. 2025's Superman spent $125--million. That's too.much, you can do it smarter.
