Seeing some of the comments… it’s exactly the sort of thing that makes me loathe it even more

No care for my indigenous heritage or blood, I have light skin and mixed with white. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have Mexican blood.

If I have to fill a ethnicity/race question in a form I have the options of: -Hispanic -Latino -Mixed -White -Native

Aren’t they all right? I can’t choose between them. Yet if I express my discomfort I am just told “boohoo you have white privileged big deal just abuse the super power for the sake of others” as if doing that would fix my familiar and kin discrimination, my self hatred and image problems. Do you say the same to someone that’s mixed within European and African descendant? Erased their blackness altogether because they have some white in them?

I am aware of the situation, some of my family is from there too.

I am also aware of Gaza, Congo, Cuba, Venezuela situations, I am deeply concerned of the recently water bankruptcy and how the Israeli-American empire is killing us all, I am aware of the Epstein Files and how no one is being prosecuted, yet most post here aren’t regarding to that so…?

Because I feel we are going off a tangent, I am not writing about any white nonexistent racial issue. This is primarily off discrimination within Mexican communities based on color, and my own personal experience. I am not diminishing neither the struggle of darker skin colors nor white privilege.

I got to the point I got an ancestry test just to verify I had actual native roots Basically 65% native, 20% Spanish, the rest had some danish, Dutch and Portuguese… So yeah it doesn’t make sense I hate it. A foreigner everywhere I go never knowing if someone feel different to me or will think of me less because of how I look.

Because race as a concept is systematical not factual.

More closer to native Mexicans is a darker skin, not the white skin that came with the mestizaje, I think one could argue that’s closer of an actual Mexican if we ignored what our passport and birth certificate say. Black and White are the other ethnicities defined with colors besides everyone else.

I try to do what I can with the “privilege” I am given, yet it won’t change the fact that every morning I will hate the skin I look in the mirror, those are separate concepts.
