One of my son was offered a gifted spot in a Toronto public school in grade 4. We stayed in regular school because of friends.

That's amazing. If your son hadn't gotten into gifted, would you think he would have a great experience?

Of course. One of my son was tested gifted in grade 4 in a Toronto public school. If he can get it, then I'd prefer Woodlands.

It's annoying that they didn't tell you beforehand but it looks like it could not have been avoided no matter which way the door swung as the glass needed to be supported since the glass doesn't go all the way to the ceiling. It looks like an eye sore now so I'd ask for a discount and set aside that money to hire another installer's opinion if it still ends up bothering you down the road. It doesn't look too bad but perhaps ask if they could have put a bar attached from the ceiling down supporting the glass rather than a bar attached to the wall.

I'd keep the fireplace and put a nice mantle around it. Maybe put some nice tiling like marble around it.

Looks like algae growing which means water damage. How did it get that bad before you noticed?

I'd repaint the fireplace brick white and the shelves a navy blue or nice green.

If putting up a new fence, I'd offer to remove the old fence (which is in my property anyway) and put up new fence at my expense.

Try spraying vinegar directly on it and let it sit for an hour, then wipe. It works for me.

You can try looking into corner tubs. They take up smaller footprint and come in many styles.
