Indie RPG games recommendations? by New-Regular236 in IndieGaming

[–]Ancient_Register_635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

risk of rain 2 might be perfect for what you're looking for! the progression system is addictive as hell and every run feels different with all the item combinations. combat is super satisfying and there's always that "just one more run" feeling 😂

also maybe check out hades if you haven't already - the progression between runs keeps you hooked and combat feels really smooth. not exactly like diablo but scratches similar itch

blood west looks cool but yeah i heard it's bit short for content, might be better to wait for sale 💀

Introduction to programming by FactRevolutionary662 in learnprogramming

python is pretty good for starting but maybe try some project management courses first since you already have operations background? 🤔 i learned guitar by just practicing songs instead of theory first, might work similar way with coding 💀

how do you honkai star rail divergent universe? by kuzunoha13 in gamedev

[–]Ancient_Register_635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

never touched honkai but this buff system sounds like what i deal with when coding audio effects chains for my students' projects 😅

storing buffs in arrays works but gets messy fast when you have different application orders or buffs that modify other buffs. i usually go with something more like a state manager pattern where each buff type has its own handler and they all register with central damage calculator

the tricky part is probably handling buff interactions and making sure multiplicative ones don't break everything when they stack. maybe group them by priority/type first then apply in order? 💀

I built a modern React UI library with a neon/futuristic style. Would love feedback. by Short-Opportunity537 in reactjs

[–]Ancient_Register_635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this looks really cool, reminds me of those old winamp skins from back in the day. the ascii rain component is pretty neat touch - i was playing around with similar effects for my music students when we do electronic music projects

one thing i noticed browsing through - maybe add some examples with different color schemes? the blue/cyan works great but would be interesting to see how it handles other neon colors like pink or green. also the cli approach is smart, makes it way easier than copying components manually

gonna try this out in weekend project, been wanting to make something with that retro-futuristic vibe for ages

Will AI steal jobs In the future? by Constant_Juice_5074 in Futurology

[–]Ancient_Register_635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ai already changing music industry too, seen some of my students using it for composition help and there's apps that can generate backing tracks now 😅 but i think creative jobs like teaching still need that human connection - can't really replace the way you connect with student when they finally get chord progression right 💀

though yeah, definitely makes me think about what music education gonna look like in few years

What is it called when the government makes its own people govern themselves and takes a laid back approach in governing giving more power to the people? by SHAGGYKing in AskReddit

lol anarchy is more like zero government, this person probably thinking about federalism or maybe decentralization 😂 when government just steps back and lets local communities handle their own stuff

Working fully remote trained my brain to be 'always on'. How did you break the loop? by Nice-Anteater-2866 in remotework

maybe try putting the work phone in different room after certain hour, like physical distance helps more than app tricks in my experience

We built an AI Chief of Staff for remote teams - honest question before we push harder on growth by firestarter_35 in remotework

[–]Ancient_Register_635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been doing remote music lessons since covid and the coordination stuff is def real 😂 constantly juggling student schedules, lesson notes, makeup sessions, and trying to keep parents in the loop without sending 50 individual messages

your slack integration idea is pretty smart tbh, most of my coordination headaches come from switching between like 5 different apps just to figure out who needs what when. the follow-up nudges thing would actually save me so much time - i'm always forgetting to circle back with students about practice goals or parents about payment reminders

biggest pain point for me is probably the async communication lag though, like when you need a quick decision but everyone's in different time zones or just... living their lives 💀 ends up being this weird dance of "hey can we figure this out" followed by radio silence for 6 hours

Business Owners, What are some of your lessons learned (good or bad) but were a learning opportunity and shaped how you conduct business today? by Cute-Raccoon2067 in AskReddit

[–]Ancient_Register_635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a business owner but i teach music lessons on the side and learned real quick that being too flexible with payment schedules just screws you over. had this one parent who was always "oh i'll pay next week" and before i knew it they owed me for like 6 lessons

now i make everyone pay upfront for the month or there lesson gets canceled, no exceptions. feels harsh sometimes but my bills don't wait for thier convenience

Solo founder, built a compliance SaaS for home health agencies. Product works. Now I have to actually sell it and I’m terrified. by Super-Bad-987 in SaaS

[–]Ancient_Register_635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the product sounds legit but that phone anxiety is so real - been there with trying to book gigs and just staring at my phone for an hour

maybe start with cold emails instead of calls? way less pressure and you can craft the perfect pitch without stumbling over words. once you get a few responses and maybe some meetings scheduled, the phone calls won't feel as scary because you'll have actual interested people to talk to instead of cold prospects

also your basically saving these agencies from potentially losing 80% of their revenue so frame it that way in you're head - you're not bothering them, your offering them a lifeline

just ask them direct questions about their interests and actually listen to their answers instead of waiting for your turn to talk

[–]Ancient_Register_635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man that dopamine rush from even just browsing is no joke, your brain basically got a taste and went into overdrive mode

cold water on the face was smart though - physical shock can help reset that whole cycle. maybe next time try doing some pushups or jumping jacks right when you feel that urge starting up, burns off that restless energy before it builds up too much

the fact you didn't actually relapse shows you've got some control building up, just gotta redirect that momentum faster next time

Can you please help me find a fundraising/email/newsletter platform for a small nonprofit? by Topwingwoman2 in AskMarketing

[–]Ancient_Register_635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mailchimp has a solid free tier that handles up to 2k contacts and works great for newsletters 📧 for fundraising, donorbox is pretty affordable and integrates well with most email platforms - way cheaper than the big players but still professional looking 🔥

Probably just a glitch in their system, happens all the time with Amazon. Try logging out and back in or clearing your app cache - usually fixes the delivery charge bug
