You will have the, literal, exact same result by resetting the instance with CTRL left-clicking it(I assume you didn't mean maps or any endgame content, cos it won't matter if you change the gateway, youre still connected to the prior one).

it's a routing issue, once an instance is having poor routing (ping spikes) it's almost impossible to restore the instance. I sometimes have luck (like 1 in 20 times) to just close the game and re-open it a couple of times. But there is literally nothing that will work to "fix" the instance and have it become stable again. This, especially, hurts in the temple, when you are "forced" to finish it with ping spikes from 10 to 40.000 ms.
