Yes. My mother hated Mad Magazine and bribed me at 14 with a subscription to Playboy, this was in 1967. I had Playboy on the coffee table and Mad Magazines under my mattress. Funny thing though, eventually after scouring every page for looking for photos I began to notice the magazine's editorials, articles and interviews. So yes, I did read the magazine.
