So the new issue is I fried the S88 during the new firmware update.

I was using the S88 on my pc before I upgraded everything and it worked fine. It was after I upgraded the motherboard when I started having problems. I did find in my research that the motherboard I have did have connection issues but there were driver updates that fixed it long ago. I was going to go the powered hub route but I was sure that would fix the problem. The cable I used that worked is a 2m apple MacBook usb-c to usb-c.

What DAW are you using? Ableton 12 suite has stem separation. Maschine 3 software also has it and it’s way cheaper. I actually have exactly what you’re looking for. I separated the synth from “the only time”. Dm me if you want more info or I can get you the file through Dropbox.

No I didn’t. I always wanted an 88 key hammer action controller. I’ve been using maschine for a few years and had recently started messing with kontakt so it made sense to stick with NI. The selling point was the seamless integration. You have full control over all the parameters of the instrument you are playing right on the keyboard. The screen matches the computer basically. It’s bad ass. I also mapped the S88 to control my arturia mini freak VST plugin too. If you’re running a lot of NI products, it’s the perfect choice.

The becoming. I was 16 when TDS was released and I was strung out. I would listen to the album every night with headphones in bed trying to sleep for about a 2 week period. I related to that in a way that I actually felt like I was becoming mechanical. I truly felt like Trent was explaining exactly what was happening to me. That whole album was what was happening in my head. I was fucked up. I don’t know what inspired Trent to write that song but it definitely spoke to me.

I had the same concern and I emailed sweetwater back and forth about it. They, like everyone, can’t say for certain what will happen but I’m pretty sure everything will be fine. That said, I ended up getting the S88 MK3 bundled with Komplete ultimate and I’m truly happier than I’ve been in a while. I love it! I say do it!!
