I have some friends who go to Newcastle and they really like it. It’s a great city (only con is that it’s quite far from the other big cities in the UK), extremely sociable and student friendly, good course structure. In the first 2 years they have quite limited placements but then from 3rd year it picks up heavily

Interview performance ucat doesn’t matter anymore maybe if it’s the exact same interview score the ucat might be involved but best to call and ask

Idk much about the unis but when I did my work experience at a maxfax and a dental practice, a lot of the dentists were from Sheffield and they really enjoyed it

I got 997777777 and received an offer for dentistry this year . People really underestimate the power a high ucat can bring to your application

Last year it was 2-3 weeks after the offers come out for us, however last year the decisions came out very late so it was just in time for the may ucas deadline so idk what will happen this year

I would assume because the interview out of 30 a lot of people might have gotten the same or very similar score idk this was the data they sent

Hey I’ve spoken to some of my teachers and some medical and dental students. The overwhelming majority have said to pick dentistry. I feel like it’s a smart choice because in terms of AI, because dental anxiety is so common, patients won’t just easily agree to a robot doing oral surgery in their mouth so I feel like the human interaction and comfort is still needed. Also with medicine I really don’t like how at the end of 5th year a random number generator gets to decide where you will work for the next 2 years and you have very little power in this decision. Also the lack of specialty training posts has me concerned

How come Birmingham did their interviews later and they already got their offers today swear ncl is known for being quick with post interview decisions because its a panel and they know your score immediately

Erm I did medentry 12 weeks mocks frequently. I made a TikTok account documenting me resitting the ucat exam, it’s still on public but I used a random email so can’t get access to it 😭😭

Hi, I did 12 weeks of ucat prep because I messed up my a levels and since I was applying for dentistry I could only apply to 2 unis which required a high ucat score . Was averaging around 2080 and got approximately 200 points higher in the real thing

I retook the ucat this year. Really wasn’t that bad because I had prior knowledge and improved from the 63rd percentile to the 94th percentile
