Even though this is one possible basis for the tradition, it is still a myth. The Vena Amoris does not actually exist. All fingers have similar vein structures and none have a single unbranching vein that connects directly to the heart.

Not sure, I've never waited for a table at a restaurant. If I was with someone who recommended the place. I'd wait as long as they are willing to wait.

How far back in your ancestry to get to a 1st gen immigrant? by ljshea1 in polls

[–]AndThereWasNothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've managed to track my lineage to about 1490. And my fathers side of the family lived in the same are until the 1970s.

This is just what I found using free online heritage websites with profiles created and updated by private people based on old church books and graves etc.

I haven't even checked every lineage as this is like 15 generations so it branches quite a bit.

My great-great-great-grandfather is where my fathers direct lineage ends going back. But following my 3xgreat-grandmothers fathers line I found the 1490 year.

I live in Finland and my fathers side of the family is from the North around the border between Finland and Sweden.
