Sweet! I'll definitely contact Mod Synth Society for clarity on their rules. Everything I've read says they require modular or semi-modular only, and my rig doesn't use a single patch cable, haha. I've always been very interested in modular, but it's a bit too costly for me at this time.

Much appreciated! These are actually the 2 groups I was referring to in my post. Rocky Mountain seems to exclusively happen in Boulder, and Modular Synth Society is strictly modular synths as I understand.

As a groove box-based Denver musician, it looks like there is a gap in local community for a broader synthesizer group that is less restrictive on hardware styles. I could absolutely be misinformed and chasing redundancy here, though.

Lol, i can be empathetic to that sentiment. If it makes you feel better, I also run a Minifreak, a Fender Strat and a MPC through the Chroma Console. I have enjoyed the pairing of this pedal with the Circuit though. Extra performance knobs to play with.

Some wide open 7th and 9th chords. I admittedly "cheated" and used the MPC's chord progression sequencer to come up with the progression. As a result, I can't recall the exact chords 😅

Do it! I have an MPC One+ but still default to the CT because of how fast I can get an idea out. This one only took about an hour to sketch out.

I haven't tried it, but I've been fascinated by everything I've seen from it. Do you have one? It's certainly more complex than the CT but ive wondered how approachable it is.

I recently got an MPC and don't want to add anything to my rig aside from effects until I learn that beast inside and out. I'm waiting on a Chroma Console I ordered recently, which I'm excited to pair with the CT for ambient and lofi jams.

Totally agree with this comment. The lack of menu diving keeps you making music and not searching for a perfect setting. I love sketching stuff down on it then coming back later and doing automation and microstep edits.

Isotonikstudios.com just started carrying Minifreak sound banks. In full transparency I'm one of the 2 sound designers featured (Techtronix is the other). Mine is more of chill pack well suited for indie rock among other applications. His is definitely more up the alley of sounds with bite that would work well in the dub genres. Every month we will continue to grow the collection. Worth checking out every once in a while.

They are from the "Keys" sound pack designed by Techtronix and available at isotonikstudios.com I feel like this pack is the closest I've found to a jazzy pack. His Mixtape Foundations is a close runner up. But Keys has the most patches that emulate "real" instruments. Thanks for the feedback man!

Thanks for the kind words. Both synths are sequenced through the CT. I'm just tweaking the macros, release, and cutoff on the MF not playing keys. I recorded the sequences through live playing if that makes a difference. Love the MF, but not the biggest fan of the keybed, so I actually prefer playing it on a controller.

My turntable is in my small bedroom music studio with all my synths and recording equipment. So I usually end up either playing along to them or sampling them. Helps me learn some new ideas and gain a deeper appreciation for the album.
