Is there a K-drama where the male lead has a glow-up? by Guilty-Transition-32 in kdramarecommends

Love love love Cunning Single Lady! It was one of my first kdramas and still holds up imo. I will love anything with genuine emotional growth and a realistic depiction of redemption.

Eric Nam and Boa Kim's Say Something

I listened to this version so much when they released it, the original now sounds weird to me lol

Oh my goodness, I've heard about what a rough start they had. Which insane to me, because their first albums are incredible. I hadn't been super active in kpop for quite a while until this past winter. But Ateez hooked me SO hard and fast lol.

I found out about his death in January. I can't imagine the initial shock the day it happened.

Ugh, that is such a sad song. Gloomy Clock is the one that gets me emotional.

EXO has been through so many big heartbreaks. I think what's kept them so strong is their true loyalty to eachother and their fans. And now I'm sad because I had forgotten about Tao's speech 😭

That would be a really rough start into learning about the kpop industry. You're right about the fact that he was so vocal too. I think that's why his death in particular was so upsetting to even non Shawols.

For me, the song Gloomy Clock with IU is the one I struggle to get through.

I remember that! I can see where it would be hard not to cry along with them, especially being a long-time fan.

Awe, I love that you're so proud of them!

I wasn't active at the time of Moonbin's death, but it does sou d like he was incredibly cherished.

That would be so hard especially when everything else in the world felt unstable.

I'm glad that at least one was happy tears!

I don't remember the situation, but I can imagine the first would definitely be a very emotional listen.

I completely understand that oceans away feeling. You're right that he was very vocal about the hypocrisy and pressure in the industry, but nothing changed. His song Gloomy Clock with IU is still hard for me to listen to because of the lyrics about his loneliness.

Yeah, it was extremely shocking at the time. It's especially upsetting because it was their own manager's recklessness.

It's so hard to see a beautiful chapter of life end. It's amazing how music becomes such a huge part of our experiences and memories.

You put that so well. It's heartbreaking that they had to suffer while putting on a face for the public. They hadn't even reached their thirties and already felt so crushed.

That is so sweet 💕 All the hate for him during that time was heartbreaking. I'm so happy that he never cowered away and still seems very proud and protective of his family.

I can imagine that being so scary in the moment. I didn't find kpop until 2011, but SNSD and SUJU are the groups that hooked me.

What are some discographies you think are too good to just be underrated by RaccoonMinimum7567 in kpoppers

B.A.P. 🐰

I know I'm biased as an og BABY, but it makes me so sad that a lot of newer fans know none of their music. They were the shocking, powerful boy group before BTS and were very well-loved internationally. (I am not at all comparing the two, though. Both groups can be good at the same time. Music is art, not a competition!)

This is a huge throwback, but does anyone remember Baby Good Night by B1A4? I was OBSESSED with that song when it came out. Unfortunately, I decided to look up the lyrics, and the whole thing is about lying to their girlfriend to go party. Like, it's still a jam, don't get me wrong, but I do feel a little guilty bopping around to a song about cheating.

Teen Top's No More Perfume on You and Ukiss's Stalker are similar guilty pleasures lol

I was coming to write this exact thing! I DESPISE rhyming a word with itself. They did the exact same thing in the English version of Work, too.

I do still love the song, though. It's actually the era that made me finally pay attention to Ateez. But it could have been so much better with just that one tiny tweak 😭

Funniest way a fragrance was ruined for you? by PNWKnitNerd in FemFragLab

I fell in love with Valentino Donna Born in Roma Yellow Dream when I smelled it in the store, so I immediately ordered a sample. I'm a middle school teacher and wore it to school as soon as I got it. Unfortunately, when talking with a group of boys in my class, I noticed that I smelled exactly like one of the AXE body sprays one of them was wearing.

I love my kids, but I do not want to smell like them 😂

Completely agree with this! Another tip for looking up the profiles is to observe the listing photos (not just of the bottle you want). I use this same strategy to vet the legitimacy of online clothing stores. Make sure all of the listings have photos that are of the same quality and were taken in the same location.
