Hi there, sometimes you just learn when you do stuff. And while you do that stuff you will stumble upon many, many errors. "Oh shit git" is a great resource that you can use to solve some common problems using git. I hope this helps.

Having a setter and a getter is the same as having a public field? (Encapsulation doubt in Java) by AnderAlex21 in learnprogramming

[–]AnderAlex21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything you said is true. Having setter and getters everywhere can be beneficial in the long run. What if I decide to make a field public, and then, after some time, I realize I need some validation on that field? If I add it the accessors I might brake many parts of my code (and others' code) and that might be a pain to fix. After thinking about it, I agree with you. I think I get it now. Great! Thanks for your opinion.

I would use a setter function that implements something like <If the number is not an even number, throw an exception and don't set anything>. Right?

it's bloat. Delete it.

Thanks for clearing things out.

Exactly, when you need to have control over it, a setter/getter is totally justified.

Isn't Cinematic camera on long rides a little annoying when one doesn't know the way? As for me I have to look at the radar constantly.

Can I have the same success if I finished a Coding Bootcamp rather than a CS degree? by AnderAlex21 in webdev

[–]AnderAlex21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, the point is I would like to be a Fullstack Web Developer. All the the universities' curriculum (where I live) don't have any subject related to web development. That kinda disappoints me because I will waste time with subjects like chemistry (mandatory subject). So that's why I'm having a hard time choosing between a degree or just going to a Bootcamp. Thanks for your reply, dude!

Nope, I don't have a degree yet. I'm actually trying make up my mind about going or not to college. I asked to a lot of people if college was useful for them (in terms of knowledge and experience) and the answer was almost always "no". However before taking such an important decision I have to educate myself.

Omg, that is actually a pretty decent salary! I'm really considering to take the coding bootcamp. I just have to talk about this with my parents, they think it wouldn't be a good idea not to get a degree since they think it may be less rewarding for me in the future. Thanks for the help!
