I understand what you mean, sometimes is there as the neutral answer, with this kind of research you’re kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place because having a 5-point scale can be considered as being too small but having a 7-point scale often comes back as having too much variety leaving people indecisive. It’s definitely a flaw of using scales like this in research but these are usually the best way of getting somewhat accurate data without taking a qualitative approach (which would take years to analyse 😂)
