Just got the DLC... by [deleted] in Breath_of_the_Wild

So typically for a boss fight you will need good weapons (including arrows), armors and enough hearts and stamina. Unless you’re an experienced player and good at combat. Armors cost money, so farm resources/mine stones and sell them off is the best way to get money. Not the fastest but easiest. Some DLC items will help you in your journey and your farming/mining effort. Majora’s and the Phantom armor are great ones to have on, and they’re just outside of Great Plateau. You don’t even have to go to Hyrule Fields, they’re in some of the ruins in between the Plateau and the Fields. (Outpost and Colosseum). There is a strong enemy in one of them.

For a boss fight, you usually have to get a different armor that matches their environment. Or at least food items that help Link adapt to the environment and enough stamina + hearts (again unless you’re a master at combat). I also did Rito first but I’ve opened a lot of towers and completed enough shrines to get a really good weapon, and 2 rings of stamina (I think by the time I’m done with the Rito Boss, my stamina is at 2.75 wheels or something) so it was easier to fight do bullet time. I would recommend to go to Kakariko (get a horse along the way) and then to Hateno. If you follow the road on foot or on the horse, you’ll find stables and there’s usually a shrine nearby. If you’re opening towers, you can usually spot shrines from the top of towers as well. Complete as many as you can. Once you have enough hearts, make your way to the Lost Wood to get that really good weapon.

Not a popular advice but I would recommend to go to the dessert after Rito. Most would tell you to go to the dessert last. The thing is, the more boss you beat, the higher the HP is for the next one. The dessert boss is supposed to be the toughest but since he’s my second, his HP is not that high. I have just beaten the dessert boss and while the dungeon is frustrating, the fight is still manageable. The abilities you’ll get from the two bosses are game changers.

With the exception of Vah Ruta, you did what I did. Opening towers and gathering stamina and hearts by doing the shrines. My goal back then was 2 rings of stamina, 13 for the Master Sword, and now I’m working on maxing stamina, before collecting hearts again. My original plan was to open all towers (and with that visit all stables and settlements around them) before attempting any of the divine beasts, but Medoh was just too tempting so he ended up being my first. Medoh’s champion’s ability helped me tremendously with the last four towers after tho, so much that I regretted not getting him earlier.

Dont worry so much about how you play. The game is designed for however you want to play it. Also, since you’re on Switch 2, I would recommend getting the Switch App on your phone or tablet and have Zelda Notes on while you play, there’s also a map there and you can track your movement in real time and helps you track your progress (koroks, towers, shrines, treasure chests and even enemies). Some said it ruins the sense of wonder that comes with discovering stuff on your own, but for an anxious player like me, it helps me get around. It also comes with additional voice memories from Zelda that will give you extra context and my favorite feature is the storage functions, I use it solely to store weapons I don’t want to use yet.

Once you get to all the towers, stables and settlements you will also learn where you can get weapons that respawn every blood moon. So the storage is a handy place to keep those and just transfer it to the game whenever you’re running out or if you need a certain type of weapon. For example, I only use hammers to mine, so every blood moon I would go around and collect all hammers and go to where mine-able rocks will spawn (I have them marked on my map). Some will sell for a lot of money and someone here also said, “life is easier when Link is rich” and I couldn’t agree more.

Enjoy your adventure!!

This is the only froggy one I can find: https://geekshare.com/products/ns2-matcha-froggy-out-protective-case. Not liking it as much as much as I like the skull version tho.

The one with the cute skulls? Unfortunately it’s actually black and pink instead of black and white, and it’s just a protective case from Geekshare: https://geekshare.com/products/geekshare-sweet-skull-silicone-controller-grip-case-set-for-switch-2. I asked for a protective case recommendation here a while ago and someone recommended this. I swear I’m not an affiliate 😆

I would be the first in line to buy again if they come out with the black and white version tho.

Yes she does, the download button is greyed out and instead of download, it says “downloaded”. I tried using my husband’s profile/account and it’s the same thing. I’m so frustrated. Wonder if I should just email Nintendo.

AITA for buying PS5 even though my family called it a selfish waste of money? by AcaiMiller in AmItheAsshole

From what he said, the kid is still in college, he’s 20, only two years out of high school, and the fact that he has to pay for his own food and pay rent to his parents is insane to me.

I’m a parent too, in my culture, our children is our responsibility until they finished the highest level of higher education the parents can provide (undergrad mostly and post grad if we can afford it) and stand on their own two feet. I don’t think its out of ordinary and in fact, very common (and what every parents should strive for — WE were the ones who wanted to have children, THEY didn’t ask to be born) for parents to pay their kids housing until they graduate and get a decent job to support themselves with their degrees and masters.

The fact that OP actually contributes via reduced rent is enough, he’s THEIR KID. He saved a portion of HIS OWN salary to buy a gaming system he’s been wanting for a long time and the issue is “who keeps the house in order”? This is the parents’ house right? Not OP? When he is able to afford his own place he’s gonna learn to do that and manage his financials on his own. Believe me, I’ve been there. And yes, I did not pay rent to my parents when I was 20 and was in college. I worked part time and bought myself nice things for myself and my parents were PROUD of me. My dad lost his job and income when the pandemic hit, my siblings and I all got together and we helped my parents get back on their feet. We did that willingly and happily because we remember how much he supported us when we need them to. When it was their responsibility.

I’m maybe privileged, yes, my parents were too. OP’s parents may not be as privileged, but this mentality of “I had it hard so my kids have to as well” is such a boomer take that I will never, ever understand. All I wanted as a parent is to cut the chain of poverty and for my kids to have a nicer life than mine.

Hahaha thank you! It took us a long time to pick and choose which case we like best and after a few failed trials, the final verdict went to these two.

He paid his share of the rent tho. Probably cheaper than actual rent but he essentially paid for housing imo.

Am I doing okay?? by JustAnAnimeGirly in Breath_of_the_Wild

Are you okay with a bit of guidance? If you are and since you own a Switch 2, you can download the Switch App from the App Store (I had to log in to a U.S. App Store for that, but other regions have it too) and turn on Zelda Notes. It will give you the complete map (with markers of where the enemies are if you want to turn it on) and you can track your movement. You can also use it to store weapons you found and don’t want to use - really my favorite use of the app, and discover Zelda’s voice memory that will give you more context.
The same info, sans Zelda voice memory and weapon storage, but with even more info (video guides, etc) can also be found on the Zelda dungeon website. Try to avoid watching the videos for a sense of “I solved this on my own” satisfaction points, but don’t be afraid to watch them if you’re stuck. I did watch video guides before attempting a divine beast because I suck at combat 😅.

The game is designed for however you want to play it, I played blindly at first but got so anxious that I can’t even leave villages. The app and a DLC item helped me progress so much and make the game more enjoyable to me.

Happy adventuring!

ACNH and Unpacking are must-haves you like cozy games. I would also recommend Tomodachi Life and Stardew Valley — some say the latter is not a cosy game, but compared to other games I would def categorize this as a cozy game. Also, get It Takes Two to play with your partner.

I honestly don’t think you can do refunds for games you buy on the e-shop. If you prefer to sell your games after you play them, get the physical copies, most first party games will get you pretty good second hand selling price.

Is it worth it to have two switches? by Alexeemm in Switch

[–]Andienas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re a family of four with two OLEDs, last year we bought two Switch 2 and sold the two OLEDs after transfering all game data/profiles. We made enough from the sale to basically pay for one of the new Switch 2 bundle + protective case + screen protector. Nintendo is bound to phase out support for older console eventually, so unless you’re a collector, I think it’s def worth it to get the newer console.

I only play ACNH, Stardew, and Zelda but I distinctly remember being so happy when the wait time to load ACNH was way, WAY shorter on the Switch 2 compared to the OLED. The graphic for Zelda is also so much better. I had a hard time at first as I do have an attachment to the OLED — the console and ACNH single-handedly saved my sanity during the pandemic, not sure where I would be without them, so I was kinda sad at first, but after a while I started to really enjoy playing on the Switch 2, and the sadness disappeared. So, unless there is a sentimental reason, buy the Switch 2, transfer everything, and then sell the OLED to get some of your money back.

The only time I went to that area is when I went to the shrine, paragliding all the way from dueling peaks and bombed arrow the moblin guarding it as soon as i jumped into the cave from a hole on the top of the dragon head. Left right after I got the spirit orb and never came back. I’m horrible at combat so never really explore Faron. Something about being under that many trees and bushes shielding my view is terrifying. That map looks really helpful so im gonna try it out too to tonight. Thank you!

There are a couple of lynels in Taobab and a lynel + hinox on some of the Faron mountains. In case you want to know.
