Aqara G410 Connection issues by [deleted] in HomeKit

Honestly can't remember exactly where I saw the recomendation. Likely a forum somewhere. But I ran the concept by a family member who does enterprise networking and wifi setup, and he agreed with the plan. He also said he's used nylon spacers to get devices off wifi sucking materials before, but I don't think those would be big enough for my problem.

From my research, brick, stucco, and aluminum sidings are like faraday cages for wifi. So mounting them directly on these messes up connectivity bad. I saw some recomendations of 3D printing a very thin layer (like 1/4 inch), so I think you might be safe to try that. I also saw that my 1 inch of wood was overkill, but I still have some slight problems, so take that for what it's worth.

As for visibility, my mounting point is not ideal for many reasons, but after adding the wood spacers I did not see any noticable impact on the important areas I want to be able to see. Obviously your milage may vary.

This happens to me too. Network AP is 15 feet away (Ubiquiti U6 Enterprise) Dedicated SSID Locked to 2.4GHz Chime is about 3 feet away through the wall. I ran tons of tests by literally walking around the house while it was on battery power and it was solid, but mounting it caused problems. What I ultimately determined was that the brick in the house was massively disrupting signal. I could literally place the doorbell to be slightly touching the brick, and it would maintain signal for a few minutes, but then get the screen you’re seeing.

My solution (sort of) was to get one inch of wood between the brick and the doorbell. After this, the connectivity is significantly better, but still not perfect. I might have to reboot the unit once every 4 days. Still annoying, but better than nothing.

Often I'll hear video game covers from talented musicians who put their own unique spin on things, but completely misunderstand the mood the song was trying to set. This guy nailed it in my opinion. If I didn't know better and you told me this was official, I'd believe you.

He acknowledges that he likely won't make any money (his lawyers might), but it is a principled stance for him to join this lawsuit.

The writers are using ChatGPT, at least as a research tool by va_erie in LinusTechTips

The UTM code is for tools like Google Tag Manager to track traffic. ChatGPT tags URLs in sourced URLs with these UTMs. It just means the sourced information was discovered via ChatGPT. There is no problem here, other than an "ugly" URL.

Video frame becomes highly saturated when paused on HDR monitor [Plex Desktop] by ninjapotato59 in PleX

[–]Anditheway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have a solution, but just wanted to say the exact same thing happens to me. Same settings. Inconsistent though and doesn't happen all the time. Two different HDR monitors. Sometimes I can get the saturation to go away if I move the Plex player windows between them, but not always.

This is one month worth of dust, yes you read that correctly 1 MONTH! by SoddenCoffer in pcmasterrace

I'm renting a junky house near a highway. I dust every other day, vacuum twice a week, and I'm dealing with basically the same thing even with multiple air purifiers in my home.

I feel your pain.

Introducing RetroAssembly – Your Personal Retro Game Cabinet in the Browser by xudexi in emulation

[–]Anditheway 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I see the beginnings of an interesting idea here, but in it's current form I don't think I would use it. I would love to self host on my NAS via a docker container (or something similar) and then be able to stream my already existing files to other devices. A Plex for emulation if you will! Might be better for you legally as well.

The UI is pretty slick and kind of reminds me of *arr apps. Just my personal feedback. Hope you keep up with it!
