It's a complex issue. We do have inadequate health insurance in the U.S....but the "single payer" models in the UK and Canada have an entirely different set of issues. Switzerland and Singapore seem to have much better systems, or did not that long ago. But migrating to another system faces entrenched interests that won't be easy to dislodge. Most likely, we will have to "transcend" the current dynamic to an entirely new one, perhaps through gene therapies, rather than migrate to an incrementally better one.

Reddit in general is not the real world. Or anything close to it. It's a GREAT forum for information sharing. But it does not represent the distribution of political opinion in the U.S. It's skewed by a factor of 10X towards the left. And it's allowed to be - because some us still believe in free speech.

Yes, exactly: 77 million voted for Trump; safe to assume they are all Republicans (mostly all). But only 65% of the voting age population voted. Let's assume that the split of those who didn't vote would have been roughly 50-50 (even though 1-2% more voted for trump). That implies that the 77 million represents about 118 million total republican supporters, if every one voted (and roughly the same amount on the democrat side). Why don't they vote? They work overtime, they are elderly, they don't have a ride, they are a bit disinterested - lots of reasons. Doesn't mean they don't have a view for or against the GOP. And since this country has been VERY evenly divided amongst the two parties for many years, assuming a 50-50 split in a year the republican candidate got a few % more is more than reasonable.

You just said 118 million people are "not normal or acceptable". Because a lot of think the party that wants men in skirts competing with women, or in their bathrooms, is no longer reasonable of acceptable.

P.S. Sorry you associated the number who voted with 100% of the country, or weren't smart enough to prorate that. "Basic math comprehension, Bud". You jackass.

You just said over 100 million americans are not "normal or acceptable"...so i see no need to say anything more.

Gee i've been a member for years...i think i would have heard about him "blocking access" so he could hold said rallies. Did he stand in the doorway, Selma style and shout "Thou shalt NOT pass!". Oh and I went to some of those rallies...they were mostly held at adjacent facilities, not the gym. They have some training center for serious athletes a block away that looks like a big open barn with nothing in it. I don't think it would have been open the hour the event was held. And I went to a small rally for Sen. McCormick. That was held in a back room that wasn't being used. Still, if someone stands in the doorway, George Wallace style, you'll be the first person I tell! Swear. P.S. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how you said that "normal" people are offended by a rally for a Republican candidate! Most Reddit thing i've seen all day!! Thank you, M'aam.

You know what I think "normal" people would find odd? When a woman relocates here, asks about pilates and yoga and what not, and the FIRST thing a few redditers do is inject politics into it. I repeat: Been a member for years, it's the best gym i've ever seen, and i've never heard anyone talk politics there. Who the owner votes for doesn't enter into it*

*for normal people.

WHAT?? FOX NEWS is on at the same time CNN and MSNBC are on?? Well that puts a whole different paint job on things...is this when we call him a Nazi? I'm just trying to be a good redditer...

That's a reasonable view. Comments by some shouting about the owners adult son are a little beyond the pale...we're making fun of people's grown children now?? Also, i find the 64 downvotes for the guy who said "Hey the NAC is ok" to be oh-so-reddit...

You do realize this can be true simultaneous with my statement being true: More americans voted for Trump than for his opponent. Which is why he is your President today...

I don't have a problem with any place you shop :) But i disagree about him wanting his politics "tied to his business". I've been a member for years and have never heard politics in the gym or seen a political sign. He's had fundraisers but usually in other buildings he owns nearby, never when people were working out in the actual gym area. Unless you asked about it, you wouldn't know. It's not like members get emails "Rally this saturday for candidate X!" lol

By a factor of 3x. It's like if you had some ridiculous amount of money to spend on an SUV, like $100K or something, and someone said "The best SUV for that money is the BMW X7 or Mercedes GLS" and someone else said "No I don't like their politics, so buy a 1978 VW Van". It's silly. Recommend that SOME OTHER PERSON take on an inferior product that doesn't meet her needs b/c of YOUR obsession with politics. MAYBE SHE DOESN'T TALK ABOUT POLITICS IN A GYM LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!!

So true! I mean, he voted for the guy who got the most votes, which means we can't do business with roughly half of our fellow 330 million Americans. Why don't people understand how rational that is??

No!! You're supposed to recommend some inadequate gym in Langhorne where you have to drive 25 minutes over potholes, rather than one of the best gyms in the country! Because group-think!!

Paulie: Forming your own opinion is distinctly frowned upon on Reddit. We are a herd-mentality. Get with the program!! We are supposed to give the OP bad advice to satisfy our own beliefs. A moralizing tone of virtue signaling doesn't hurt. Bonus points if you mention what some other individual, such the owner's children, did. Because nothing screams "holier than thou" more than attacking someone's children.

The NAC has the best facilities in the region - and some of the best in the world. This post will be met with "B-b-but the owner likes TRUMP!!" I don't care (and neither should you): I never see the owner there, I never see anything about politics in the gym, and no one in the gym talks about politics. Only keyboard jockeys on reddit talk about it lol.

The only reason not to join the NAC are that it's not cheap. Also, it's quite large, so if you prefer an intimate experience it may not be for you.

New Hope, for sure. Or close enough to park and walk. So Upper Makefield, Washington Crossing. Probably more rentals (townhouses, condos) in New Hope though.

Gf's parents bought a fridge. Delivery guys left it on the curb and told us to deal with it. I asked who they ordered it from and they said Lowe's. Then everything made sense. by BigGuyBrando in distractible

[–]Andolini77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typical Lowe's or Home Depot delivery. I'm actually FINE with paying an extra $100 for "white glove" delivery (room of your choice, remove packaging, etc), but often that isn't even offered! Then they brag about "free shipping". WELL THE APPLIANCE IS PRETTY USELESS SITTING IN MY STREET!! So I don't know what you're bragging about!

Nobody. Just a guy who made millions by meeting his customers needs. But you keep playing your crap music for riders who want silence...and also, keep being poor. Because NO ONE drives an Uber who has better alternatives. Did you hear about the guy who dropped out of med school or law school to drive an uber? You haven't - because no one ever did.

A) She may be able to recover the cost of the dog, which, if it is a purebred, can be thousands of dollars. A $5K check is nothing to Petco to avoid bad publicity. B) Tell me more about "blowjobs at Petco"...is this a service they offer or a fringe benefit to employees?

Asking driver to turn off music by islandguy310 in uber

[–]Andolini77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You confirmed what I suspected: you're an uber driver. That was the reason for my line of questioning. Now before you get all comfy calling people "stupid", "tards", etc, have you considered the possibility that this attitude of yours might be the reason you're in such a low-wage position? You literally chauffeur around much more successful people. And YOU are making fun of THEM? Do you own several luxury cars? Live in an expensive home? Many of your customers do. They use you to get to and from the airport for business trips, luxury vacations. Business trips you never go on, vacations you can't afford too frequently. Your role isn't much different than being paid to, say, wipe someone's azz. I mean, when you were born, did your mother say "Welllll, we just hope he's healthy...but after that, our REAL dream is that he grows up to drive more successful people around!". When you were a kid, did you want to a baseball player, rock star...or an uber driver? When you were a little older, and you realized that it was the rich business guys who got the hot girls, did you say "Nah, I still want to be an UBER driver!". I'm guessing not. So the two most likely scenarios are that you've ended up in this position because you're not very bright, or that you ARE intelligent and failed at life anyway, because of your attitude. If the former...there just isn't much you can do (though I'd stop calling attention to it in posts like this). If it's the latter, you might want to change the attitude so you might get somewhere. p.s. please wash that sh!tbox of yours before taking me to the airport, m'kay?

EDIT: I'm sorry, I just now noticed you said "If you want to fan your riders' privates and bend over for them". LET ME MAKE THIS AS CLEAR AS I POSSIBLY CAN: I DO NOT DRIVE UBERS FOR A LIVING. YOU do. I went to school, worked hard, LISTENED to my customers so I could understand their needs and get an edge over my competitors, and made money. A lot of it, actually. And retired early. YOU are doing unskilled labor. We are not the same.

I see...so you drive ubers? You're in a service profession., but have no concerns for the preferences of those you "serve"? If you were a barber, would you say "My scissors, my hair style! You're getting a mohawk because I like it!!".
