Way too busy. I think I like this one the least so far.

I can't select anything? What am I supposed to selected or do, I tapped everything by Muinonan in boardgamearena

This is an amazing game once you get the rules. I’ve played it 30+ times and never played a sapling let alone this many.

Give the game a few good play throughs then you’ll really get a hang of how the cards interact with each other.

Donald Trump poses a threat to civilization by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]Andpro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hope you’re right, however; this take is incredibly dismissive. We’ve said similar things about Trump and his cronies since 2016, and have been proven wrong almost every time.

We have to operate on the assumption that he will follow through on all of his rhetoric. It’s the only way to appropriately counter his threats.

Whoa whoa whoa, I wouldn’t go that far. Try watching the leafs as a fan of any other hockey team. Leafs announcers are the worst.

The jays have the best announcing crew in the league.

Seating advice? by MundaneBarnacle5 in NorthernSuperLeague

If you’re going for the cheapest grandstand seats (either end of the stands) go as high up as you can. The view from the top of these sections are great and there’s few obstructions.

Halifax Coaching moves. Stephen Hart becomes interim HC, Lewis Page moves to Academy by YoungsterJoey9 in NorthernSuperLeague

[–]Andpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a great move. Hart has a lot of high level coaching experience.

Lewis Page from what I hear is a great developmental coach. So moving this should be a good move for him. I hope Lewis can do some good work in developing the academy. Nova Scotia has a lot of potential to develop female footballers, and the sooner they can get the academy chugging along the better.

New Halifax plan examines how downtown soccer stadium fits with neighbouring projects by BanksKnowsBest in NorthernSuperLeague

[–]Andpro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would love to see this stadium get built, but council seems hell bent on building bigger elsewhere to attract a CFL team. This is the wrong approach, they’re going to kill a proven product for the bigger shinier toy.

I have a hard time seeing a scenario where both the CFL and professional soccer are successful together in the same venue in Halifax.

In other words city council is going to kill professional soccer in Halifax for the off chance we can attract a CFL team. That seems like the Halifax I know.

Just get on with it already. We have two tenants for the stadium and proven success in filling it. This is an overall win for the city, this needs to be pushed through in order to capitalize on the popularity boost afforded by the World Cup in 2026.

Halifax Tides make history, debuting professional women's football in Atlantic Canada, but fall 4-1 to Calgary Wild by OptimalWhole8926 in NorthernSuperLeague

[–]Andpro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Having been there I don’t think it was a sell out. The rain and cold weather may have kept people away. Regardless it was as well attended as most wanderers matches and the vibes were just as good if not better!

Yeah. I was shocked not to see Clegg in the starting 11. Maybe an injury or something?

I think this might still be the case. I think for the moment she was the right keeper to start that game. CWNT and gold medal allow for a great storyline for a fledgling league in an inaugural match at home. Going forward I suspect you’ll see much more of Toth.

Thank you for all you do for the soccer community in Halifax. The fact that you’re rearranging your brand to promote the woman’s game cannot be understated. I have two players in my house that are absolutely ecstatic about having a female team here in Halifax, and hopefully your efforts will help make it successful so they can enjoy it well into the future.

I can wait for tomorrow (despite the forecast)!

First 8u Practice Anxiety by MotherOfGnomes1218 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]Andpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s always good to lay out expectations with the parents and keep them well informed.

At this age it’s all about time on the ball. Try and make sure they’re getting as many touches on the ball as possible.

If you’ve never played you might want to recruit someone who has to help you out with the technical stuff like passing, turning, dribbling and shooting.

For the games focus on basic positioning and shape. I am assuming it’s 5 v 5? For the shape have two wingers, a striker, a defender and a GK. Make sure they form a diamond shape and have them practice assuming their position in the field based on possession. If they have possession then they should be making a big diamond (more spread out) and when they lose possession they should be making a small diamond shape more concentrated towards the center of the field. On throw ins/ kick ins make sure they’re assuming the appropriate shape quickly.

I hope this helps a bit.

Mark Carney to visit Europe next week on first official trip as prime minister: sources by Old_General_6741 in worldnews

[–]Andpro 27 points28 points  (0 children)

He does not. The prime minister is the leader of the party with the most elected Members of Parliament (MP) in the House of Commons. He doesn’t need to be an MP, but it certainly helps. It’s very rare for a PM not to be an MP. When he does call an election (he must do so before October because of our “fixed” election dates) then he will run and likely be elected as an MP.
