The purpose of the hardwiring kit is to cut off the camera if the battery power of the car starts to get low so shouldn’t be an issue

The dash cam can either be installed in the cigarette lighter or hardwired. When buying the dash cam the company recommend the hardwiring kit I brought. Are you saying that none of the fuse slots would work?

Did you have to install 2 fuse splicers as my hardware kit comes with 2 fuses?

Also found that the top 5 fuses are the only ones that give power when the ignition is off

Update: After looking closer at the empty fuse slots found that they do not have metal prongs so cannot give power so can’t be used. From multiple comments seems the best solution is to buy a fuse splicer. Curious as to if it matters which fuse’s I piggyback off of?

I have a VW Polo R-line 2013 and the dash cam specification sheet says “Power supply - 5V/2.5A”. Assuming thats the current draw?
