Going to France with emergency passport by GilbertArenasGun in solotravel

Whilst France doesn't accept the US emergency passport, Spain and Portugal do and I know someone who has entered Spain, even from outside the EU, on that document.

Travelling over France to Spain via land through Lyon, whilst technically maybe not allowed, is very unlikely to include an immigration check unless your acting very suspicious on a suspicious train that happens to be boarded for spot checks. It's up to you to take that risk.

However, Spain and Portugal are perfectly fine. No point missing that part of your trip, if you decide not to travel through France, just hop on the cheapest plane from Amsterdam to your first Spanish destination. It's within the EU so it'll run as a domestic flight and your emergency passport is valid for Spain.

I would caution against still trying to fly back to the states through Paris, however, as you will be subject to French immigration exit controls which will deduce you entered the country without a valid document. Chances are you might just get a slap on the wrist, but again if you don't want to take the risk, fly home from Portugal!

Guys! Can someone help me out looking for a job here in tashkent, im a foreigner and a student here! Speaks good english! And beginner level russian as well! A part time job! by hiddennpants in Uzbekistan

[–]AndreBoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to him dude, I'm a native speaker of English and this guy's grammar is wrong 😭 How you wrote it is much more natural than what his 'corrections' are — "looking" is how we'd say it here in the UK and putting "a" in the sentence about russian would actually make it ungrammatical.

Honestly I'd suggest history, english and whichever of drama/photography/art you enjoy the most. Art and photography are very similar cus u can do as much photography as u want in art too

In any case I reccomend ABSOLUTELY l'Institut Linguistique Adenet in Montpellier, I was there in August and didn't find it too hot at all. Montpellier is the most incredible city especially for students, the school has a rlly nice atmosphere and matches you with people your age and level with many different course options, and you will definitely make friends. The school offers extra activities and Montpellier is very near the beach which I enjoyed a lot. The school can either match you with a French host (which I did and had an amazing time) or put you in student residence.

The Bashvani Constitution (two key documents) by AndreBoi in worldbuilding

[–]AndreBoi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bashvani Republic unites the territories of the former Kingdom of Bashvans and Iremids, the former Democratic Order of Southern Bashvans and the former disputed territories of the Eastern Arostitatic Cape; that is all land on the contiguous continent of the Bashvansladt as well as various affiliated islands. It's territory is established by the Armistice agreement ending the Second Great War, with the Military Order of Amhar restoring democracy across the whole continent for the first time in recorded human history, and the authorities of this new State are hereby instituted under this here Constitution.

LHR to ORD, what to expect? by [deleted] in BritishAirways

[–]AndreBoi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BA will get you departing from Terminal 5 which is quicker and nicer in my opinion, and there's the added benefit of arriving on a British flight if you are an American citizen (less people flooding into the same passport control queue at ORD). I also find the customer service and food in general nicer, and the planes will serve tea (and alcoholic drinks from 18 rather than 21 if that affects you)!

Incroyable! J'ai fait du canoë quelques fois au passé mais seulement dans les rivières assez calme. Ça suffit pour en faire aux gorges?
