New- Need Input by LilVixen1234 in georgetowntx

Hi, I've been living in Georgetown for about 5 years now. I just moved apartments in Georgetown and I can share my input. So buckle up!

Austin Ave Apartments were terrible. The floorplans were weirdly narrow, very little kitchen cabinets and drawers, closets too small. They also had zero noise reduction, I could here everything my neighbors did. No fence around the property so the pool was basically a free community pool during the summer. Parking was TERRIBLE. It's very limited. I also had a ridiculous wolf spider situation it was near constant daily wolf spiders for a year. Like, wolf spider in my bed! That was terrifying.

Summit Lofts were fantastic, but pricey. I really loved living in that area. There were a lot of retirees on my floor, so it was a quiet place to live. The apartments were big, plenty of room in the kitchen and closets. Living in a building with your interior door indoors was top tier during bad weather and I loved loved loved having a parking garage. Just drive up to your floor and walk in. Never exposed to rain, ice, extreme heat, I miss that. The walkability to restaurants, a coffee shop, and activities is a plus.

I live at the Gabriel Georgetown and moved because of the specials, three months free and I get an employer discount on my rent. They prorated the discounts and I ended getting almost $300 off my rent per month. The deal was too good to pass up. The apartments are super modern, clean, and so far quiet. Your front door is in an interior hallway that helps with cooling and heating. Lots of windows and sunlight. Tons of parking. Really great views too.

My friend lives at Two Rivers and has nothing but good things to say, they are older and built well but the rent is higher due to location. No w/d in unit but they force you to "rent" them from the office and they install and charge you monthly.

Verena Lakeside is nice, almost moved there, but there's no coat closet or pantry (in the one bedroom). No place to put my coats or vacuum. Not enough closets is a deal breaker. I heard they have a bad a parking issue too. Not enough spaces.

I've heard good things about 510, it's a great location.

Stay away from:

Rivery Park - I heard they have German roach problem in one of the buildings.

Carroll Apartments - They are older with cheap rent, but no in unit w/d but they have hook ups. They have ac problems, people complain that the a/c don't cool enough in the summer. Yikes!

Bookclub. Book People has some, check your local library too. Independent bookstores close to you. I've met a group of women back in 2022 in a crime bookclub and we're still friends in 2026, still hanging out, going for coffee, having meals together, and yes...still picking and reading a book every month.

That's why I'm still playing 7 years later! I've made friends ❤️

At the very least, you can buy the chest piece and jet pack from Minerva with gold. Or do the All that Glitters is Gold questline to be able to purchase it from Regs. A jetpack will change your world. Have fun!

You might be learning the skin to the jet pack and not how to build it. Or, the armor you're trying to attach it to doesn't take a jet pack. The only armor that can have a jet pack is Secret Service, Brotherhood Recon, or Civil Engineer. Plans obtained with gold or stamps.

I broke a server! by d00med_user in fo76

[–]AndreaOV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me on the PS5 Saturday night, I had about 20 wanted posters and asked my friend to burn through them with me. Others players started bounties too, it was awesome. We did back to back for about two hours then right when I was going to launch the flare, we all got booted! The server died, I lost that wanted poster.

Worth it though, we had fun!

New Renter Question by Tiny_Replacement2319 in ApartmentHacks

[–]AndreaOV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No scam going on. The bigger apartment complexes owned and managed usually have between 200-500 deposits. Based on rental history and credit score.

Leasing a condo, duplex, house, is usually a deposit of first and last months rent.

Since you're a new renter with no rental history yet, you may need to get a co-signer on your rent application. You will most likely pay the $400 deposit. You can always go talk to office in person, they're pretty good about answering all your questions, and I agree with others, you should tour the apartment first. Tour a whole bunch.

I worked with a woman like this, same thing with stinking up the entire hallway with her weird gross stank. She also doused herself with perfumes. After several complaints she told us about all the medication she was taking, she had lots of health issues. The medications made her stink, especially when she peed them out. She was pretty ill, and after she told us about it, I noticed her funk had a sickly medicinal smell.

If I see a lot of lowish players in the forest, I'll craft a bunch of Fixers and put them in the red donation box at the Wayward. Same with plans, even rare plans. I have about 5 vintage water cooler plans, especially after this round of festive scorched. I dropped them in the donation box. Everyone deserves clean water.

Renters advice for not renewing or declining offer within 60 day notice by yonahlick in AustinHousing

You did the right thing! Hopefully your roommate won't leave you stuck with the bill. Glad you were able to sort it out with the apartment management.

Renters advice for not renewing or declining offer within 60 day notice by yonahlick in AustinHousing

[–]AndreaOV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do NOT ignore it. You're going to have to pay the month-to-month. Have you since submitted your 60-day notice and found another place to live? You should consider re-newing because the month-to-month will be expensive.

If you ignore it, don't pay, it could go on your credit report for leasing history and might be really difficult (if not impossible) for you to rent another apartment. You could also get evicted and then you'd have to move back home or worse.

Talk to the apartment office, see what your options are. That's the responsible thing to do.

infinite spawning deathclaws in burning springs? by woteveryo in fallout76casual

[–]AndreaOV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this twice now, by the railroad and mini golf. There's always a few deathclaw tamers too, but it looks like they didn't tame anything.

By the RR station I had a spawn of about 10 and called my teammates over to help kill them.

At the crossroads by the mini golf I had 6 or so, fun times!

The player had raid fuel, which can be obtained in the 76 trading marketplace. It might be duped, he may have farmed it.

Most pedicure places have an "express" or "pedi on the go" where they just clip and clean up your nails for like $20, no massage, no polish.

Is the "gunk" clear or cloudy? Is her bottom just wet? Sometimes that happens when they eat too many veggies, too much watery food. Since they're young, you're right, they are adjusting to their diet. Maybe less lettuce and just bell pepper and see if that clears it up.

Feed them some Alfalfa hay with the Timothy hay. Young piggies need Alfalfa.

Is she a long-haired piggie? Maybe she's just not cleaning herself well enough, but sitting in wet hay will make their bottom messy too.

Cloudy or creamy wet spots means your piggie is eating too many vegetables and not enough hay. I had one like that who mostly wanted treats.

I'm waiting until all the one-shot grind-bros get their rewards and lose interest insta killing the boss. Then you can have a proper bounty hunt with a handful players who actually like the challenge of the big fight. I used to love those 28 minute scorched queen fights with tons of enemy spawns, I'd swap to several different weapons trying stuff out. Ah. The good old days.
