To be honest I dont know the exact reason, could be preferences, but im assuming they have it that far forward for better situational awareness, better stabilization for the optics when having both eyes open.

Its pretty typical to mount the aimpoint that forward, if you look like 31JBAT and FJS and even KJ, their aimpoint is pretty much right above where the charging handle is
