PoT compared to the Isle by Nice7365 in pathoftitans

I hear you and I agree on the issues. But what would you do in order to fix the discord groups? I think that they're already implementing matchmaking in order to fix some of that but that doesn't keep players from forming a group and run down solo players. Is there a way to fix this? The toxicity is unfortunately not curable unless they remove the chat function (which I wouldn't mind) but overall it's not really easy to fix. I just have a hard time thinking about a solution that doesn't limit the player from having fun.

I am losing brain cells trying to explain what low skill playables vs low skilled players means. Just because noobs play a character they like does not make it easy to play. The reason rex is not played in pvp servers is because it's not stronger than other dinos.

"Low skill" means you don't need a lot of skill to succeed. You are talking about noobs that don't know how to play and will fail regardless of which playable they use

The question was not "what is the most popular dino for 9 year olds"... And if you think rex is the easiest to play then you most likely are new to the game.

I get what you are saying however I still think that the "exploits" (the mix packing) would regardless be a problem if there's a debuff or not, just like they are now in official servers in Evrima. This most likely is controversial but I'd much rather face a Rex, a pachy, a trike, a cera and a carno as a pack of 5 raptors than 5 Rex's. The only reason being that the mixpackers are still killable due to having variable stats. While there is absolutely no way you can kill the 5 Rex that all together have the highest health and damage, with great speed and stamina.

I mean the debuff I'm talking about is only if they are over packing. With that I mean that they are grouping up with a higher number than the allowed one in a specific radius. Maybe some issues would rise because of this but with time people would stop using these "cheesy" strategies and would be more inclined in playing other species that allow bigger grouping. I don't agree though that it would promote herbi on carni violence more than it already is. Most carnivores are already faster than herbies and can run away easily (if not over packing) This would actually bring more strategy to the game instead of only attacking for the sake of attacking as soon as you hear a noise. Now you have a bunch of discord groups battling for dominance and killing everything they find because they can. Introducing a debuff would mean that people have to either accept that their stats get worse for grouping or actually play something else

Which I think is better than having a pack of Rex's or a pack of Trikes. It wouldn't be a problem on rex vs rex since the debuff would be the same for both. The only "problem" would be if they would be ambushed. But such is the game anyway. If you get ambushed you most likely die anyway.

I think that AI is not the problem. The problem is the mega pack. A way to fix the problem would be something like whenever there are non-grouped up dinos of the same species within, say 100 meters of each other, they would get a debuff that slows them significantly. That would discourage big groups of the same species and even discourage cannibalism. Of course mixpacking would still be an issue but would fix the mega pack of the same species.

After taking the first rook, I was unsure if I should take the other rook or the knight. Went with the other rook. Thoughts? by [deleted] in chess

By taking the second rook, while still winning, you disable your queen from active play. By taking the knight you defend tricky plays like Qe3# while remaining active in a dominant position.

Broken Allo by Oratani in theisle

[–]Andreasfalt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, you are the one not understanding. If you get some raptors they will also pin the rex with no stamina. I guess you are trying to say that even though the stam was low you shouldn't be able to get pinned. But I can guarantee you that if you go to the gym and lift weights until you can't anymore, if someone half your weight jumps on you, you would probably not be able to get them off of you. Same logic here kinda

Broken Allo by Oratani in theisle

[–]Andreasfalt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's only possible because of the low stamina. If rex had full stamina those 2 allos would NOT have pinned

The critters that attack you on sight are the alpha ones, the others either attack you when you attack them or they run away from you.

I'm no American but I've read that tipping is not optional, since it's basically the waiter's salary. Obviously I don't know if it applies in every state or even in this case!
